Although I think they're getting into milking it territory, I'd support buying extra slots. That's at least been my biggest issue - there was no real good option here. Unlinked bites (IMO), and you couldnt even throw money at linked slots to resolve any walls you ran into. CKaz |

I'm getting it because I can use another mousepad, a nice artbook to look at, I need an '06 calender, and I'm Korean and I like the music so the soundtrack is nice and my parents like that type of music. I don't really care that much about the "special" emote since the only time I have my char. dance is with friends or guildmates. So I THINK its worth it, and like anime, I like to support the company.

I got a show for you. Its called X-Play. Wait for their segment on "Games for CHEAP ba$tards" because thats what you are. Come on your getting an awsome free no monthly payment game. I know I already pre-ordered the regular edition but I'm also pre-ordering the CE now that its available to be. I could care less about the extra couple dollors. Hook me up Anet! |
I shouldn't have labelled this thread what i did. IMO, the CE is a ripoff, but i guess that's because that extra video game and anime stuff doesnt appeal to me; i play the game, but that's where i draw the line. if you think the stuff is worth it, go right ahead, but i fail to see how i'm cheap. i'm sure they anet employers wont have any trouble getting their kids through college whether i fork over extra money to them or not.
Divinus Stella
I'd buy the collectors edition if they gave decent extras, but tbh i'd pay NOT to have shiny hands and backup dancers, the extra music is something id be interested in, i paid for both of the battle pack upgrades and they proved to be well worth the cash.

Why do you hate Anet so much
Just kidding, but if you're finding the responses not to your liking, then don't post such provocative threads....

I like CE, but its price is too high for me.

OK, let's take your points one by one:
You wouldn't pay $5 for a mouse pad, art book, and music CD? You are a cheap bastard.
This is just insulting. And not necessary.
Because the graphics in Guild Wars are better... plus, does Britney kill you then dance on your corpse?
This has already been refuted, but it bears repeating: Ordering the pre-order package in no way keeps you from applying the "deposit" to Factions CE.

I keep hearing info about 'backup' dancers. Can someone post a link for more info on this? Just trying to determine what the difference is between a 'alternate' dance, and 'backup' dancers...

I would have only bought the CE if it had skills that you could unlock and the aura, like GW Prophecies.

Prophecies CE did not have skill unlocks , but the special edition did have unlock skills
* Special Edition includes:
- 1 DVD ROM
- The Art of Guild Wars – Book 2
- May of Tyria
- CD of Bonus Material
- Code of unlocking Skills PLUS Weapon or Armor upgrades
I believe that was the European version of the collectors edition. Unless I am mistaken the Europeans did not have a CE only a SE?

Why do you think it's called a "Collector's Edition"?
=HT=Ingram
The map is what I want. period. I have the large poster from the Strat guide and love it. Its nice to just look up at the wall to see a Tyrian map on for a quick looksee where I am... I also add in printscreen updates to it on occassion. Like for Battle Ilse and Gren Footprint area... Its not as cool as the MOOMANiBE map, but how many people can print a huge poster size map of this kind? not many... And places like kinkos and copycat will not do it as its Anet Copyright material... So the simple inclusion of that poster map of cantha was all I needed to encourage me to get CE for this edition.
