Yup biggest waste of money ever ^ ^. Just like the 360 was a few months ago as someone else said. I would rather spend the extra $20 on gw money than the expansion crap. Don't listen to me though its just my opinion

Careful, buying Gold or Items on Ebay is against the EULA and is a bannable offense.

Although I think they're getting into milking it territory, I'd support buying extra slots. That's at least been my biggest issue - there was no real good option here. Unlinked bites (IMO), and you couldnt even throw money at linked slots to resolve any walls you ran into.

I think we agree, here. Sorry if I came off rude on the "Bitchin' about 2 slots" thread

There is a thread out there in this subforum that shows the dance for the male assassin and the female ritualist. They only had the Ranger emotes because it was a placeholder for the PvP event, meaning that they didn't have the actual emotes finished yet.

If it was like last year, pre-order boxes aren't going to be limited, so you wouldn't miss out on anything when pre-ordering. Unless it was said that it will be.

I'm getting it because I can use another mousepad, a nice artbook to look at, I need an '06 calender, and I'm Korean and I like the music so the soundtrack is nice and my parents like that type of music. I don't really care that much about the "special" emote since the only time I have my char. dance is with friends or guildmates. So I THINK its worth it, and like anime, I like to support the company.

Come on your getting an awsome free no monthly payment game. I know I already pre-ordered the regular edition but I'm also pre-ordering the CE now that its available to be. I could care less about the extra couple dollors. Hook me up Anet!
ok, so i'm cheap because i don't want to give anet more money that i need to give them in order to play the game? Hell, I'm sure A-net could always use some money, howbout I just MAIL them some!! First of all, it's by no means a 'free' game. If two expansions come out a year, that's 100 bucks I'm shelling over to them. Is that free? Not wanting to spend another 30 or so bucks on a collectors edition, wtih absolutely nothing that appeals to me? If that's being cheap, then yes, I am cheap.

I shouldn't have labelled this thread what i did. IMO, the CE is a ripoff, but i guess that's because that extra video game and anime stuff doesnt appeal to me; i play the game, but that's where i draw the line. if you think the stuff is worth it, go right ahead, but i fail to see how i'm cheap. i'm sure they anet employers wont have any trouble getting their kids through college whether i fork over extra money to them or not.

I'd buy the collectors edition if they gave decent extras, but tbh i'd pay NOT to have shiny hands and backup dancers, the extra music is something id be interested in, i paid for both of the battle pack upgrades and they proved to be well worth the cash.

Goodness, such hostility!

Why do you hate Anet so much

Just kidding, but if you're finding the responses not to your liking, then don't post such provocative threads....

the only post i didnt like was when i was called a 'cheap bastard', i respect everyone else's opinion and im glad that it is open for debate. i don't hate anet, but again just to 'support anet' and give them more money than necessary for a CE that i'd never use? nope, sorry...i like anet, just not that much

You wouldn't pay $5 for a mouse pad, art book, and music CD? You are a cheap bastard.

This has already been refuted, but it bears repeating: Ordering the pre-order package in no way keeps you from applying the "deposit" to Factions CE.

I keep hearing info about 'backup' dancers. Can someone post a link for more info on this? Just trying to determine what the difference is between a 'alternate' dance, and 'backup' dancers...

I would have only bought the CE if it had skills that you could unlock and the aura, like GW Prophecies.

When you link, you only get 2 extra slots, doesnt matter if you have CE or Regular. It woudl be way unfair for those who do not want a collectors edition, or cant afford it, or wont be able to purchase it down the road when they will all be gone.

GW + GW:F = 6 slots linked
GW + GW:F CE = 6 slots linked

Not sure if is this what you asking for but here it goes .

The Collector's Edition includes the following:
Guild Wars Factions Game
Guild Wars Factions Premium Art Book (Concept and In Game Art)
Guild Wars Factions Desk Calendar
Guild Wars Factions Mouse Mat
Guild Wars Factions “Cantha” Poster
Guild Wars Factions Sticker Set
Guild Wars Factions Sound Track CD from Jeremy Soule
TWO additional character slots – when added to existing Guild Wars accounts
Exclusive in game CE items –Signature Emotes for Ritualist and Assassin professions in Factions
Special ‘emotes’ useable exclusively by players who purchase the Guild Wars Factions CE.
Customers with a CE access key on their account will be able to trigger special dances for Ritualist and Assassin characters. These will be augmented versions of the standard dance, with special effects, and when the dance begins several backup dancers will appear behind the character to augment his dance moves with custom backup dances. For the Ritualist, these will be dancing spirits, similar to the spirits that he summons on the battlefield. For the Assassin, these will be shadowy assassins who do "ninja-style" moves synchronized with the character's dance.

Prophecies CE did not have skill unlocks , but the special edition did have unlock skills

* Special Edition includes:
- 1 DVD ROM
- The Art of Guild Wars – Book 2
- May of Tyria
- CD of Bonus Material
- Code of unlocking Skills PLUS Weapon or Armor upgrades

I believe that was the European version of the collectors edition. Unless I am mistaken the Europeans did not have a CE only a SE?

The map is what I want. period. I have the large poster from the Strat guide and love it. Its nice to just look up at the wall to see a Tyrian map on for a quick looksee where I am... I also add in printscreen updates to it on occassion. Like for Battle Ilse and Gren Footprint area... Its not as cool as the MOOMANiBE map, but how many people can print a huge poster size map of this kind? not many... And places like kinkos and copycat will not do it as its Anet Copyright material... So the simple inclusion of that poster map of cantha was all I needed to encourage me to get CE for this edition.

We Europeans had a CE too, albeit a little different than the American one. I think the contents were the same, but you got a hardcover book, instead of the softcover we had? On top of that, the SE came out after Sorrow's Furnace update. The skills and unlocks are nothing special, just regular skills you get at the beginning of the game. Nothing new.

I really hated that they released this version, with the artbook: book II. Luckily, a friend gave me the booklet, as he didn't need it .
