Confused by bow names

I'm so confused by bow names. So are Ascalon Bows Long bows or Horned bows or what?

So here's the deal, I was looking at unique bows, and for example, from the list at GuildWiKi
http://www.guildwiki.org/wiki/Unique...uick_Reference
Stinger
http://www.guildwiki.org/wiki/Stinger
And under the description it says "or a Long Bow obtained from: " but a Long Bow has different firing stats/range from the list "Range 80', Refire 2.7s,
Flight 0.75s, "
so how does that work?

Ascalon Bows can have the stats of any of the bow types (longbow, shortbow, flatbow, hornbow, composite bow). The only way to know what type yours is, is to test it or look it up online if you got it from a collector.
Above it says that the Stinger is behaving as an Ivory Bow (Horn Bow), and below it says its equivalent is a long bow. One of the two is incorrect; however, I don't have a Stinger myself to correct it.
Keep in mind that while Guild Wiki is awesome, it isn't 100% error proof.

You can always check out the category of the bow at the Isles of the Nameless. Go to the bowmaster and test your bows out.
If you can't get there, list your bows that you need tested and I'll test them for you.
