Found a purpose for Avatars that are near statues

As many of you know, you can find the avatars of gods near their statues these days. One commonly seen is in the Sanitarium. When you talk to them, they speak of offerings and what not. But you can never do anything.

Well, while I was wandering around the Ascalon Hills, I came across a Statue of Grenth. I walked up to it and kneelt and an avatar of Grenth called Voice of Grenth rose up out of the ground. When I talked to him, I got 2 choices.

If I forked over 50gp he cast Dwayna's Blessing on me, which reads:
Enchantment Spell. Target ally regains health faster while this spell remains in effect. And now I have 3 pips on my health bar!

If I forked over 100gp he gave me +4% morale!

I don't know how long the Blessing last but I assume it will last until I return to town! 3 pips is pretty good for a mere 50gp. Now if only these statues were outside all the towns. I wonder if the different god statues do different things?

Interesting. I would have thought only a Necro would get the blessing of Grenth.

I have tried kneeling in front of several shrines and have never had this happen. I wonder what the variables are?

thats odd, thats the beta style of game play look at where the hp and skill bar is, and i would like to fight the voice lol

nice find, i had no idea. Is there a post anywhere saying what other statues give away or is it all the same?

I found one of Balthazar deep in the maguuma jungles I think. Paying him 100g got me a skill that increased my max HP (If I'm remembering right) My team and I walked 10 feet with it before some skales removed them from us.

I don't know anything about the beta, but I rearranged my display. I find having the important info on top of the screen makes it easier for me to check peripherally.
I don't know what other statues might give, it it is interesting that Grenth gave out a Dwayna's blessing instead of something from Grenth. Maybe they all do the same thing?

I've also seen one in the Jungles. We got buffed and walked into the outpost that was 10 feet away...

You can get these from the statues of the god as long as your nation is favoured by the gods from the Hall of Hero fights.
