I had not logged on in quite a while but did today, popped over to Augury Rock went out the west gate to do a little soloing. However I did not get very far as I ran in to some Scarabs with vampiric touch that tore me a new one. It looks like a lot of them have been placed in that particular area now no doubt put there for yet another deterrent to soloing.
I have been playing games for a whole lot of years and never ever have I actually disliked a gaming company but I can truly say I dislike Arenanet. There campaign to rid Guildwars of any and all soloers and force everyone to march in the same direction the same way like good little soldiers in their own personal army is beyond insane.
But I won't;
Instead I have a better idea;
If they are so hell bent on the extinction of soloers in their game then they need to revamp the drop system.
The number one reason anyone solos is to make money to by equipment and weapons and grouping cuts your take of gold and items down by as many that are in your party. If you have eight members in your party it will take you on average eight times longer to accumulate the same amount of gold on that you could solo and who wants that?
My idea;
They should make drops equal to the total of whatever drops for each member, even if you are with all NPC's.
If the creature you just killed just droped a total of 100g and you have five in your party all five should get 100g each not split up to 20 each. Same goes for goods drops; if the creature drops a shell everyone in the party should get one, if he drops a nice green weapon everyone in the party should get one. The same should go for exp as well; if the creature gives 100 exp for a kill all members should get 100exp each.
This would take away all the incentive soloers have to go solo, it is a win-win. It is a win for we the gamer and a win for Arenanet as they could finally end their jihad against soloers.
Looks like the solo-neft hammer hit again, here is a better idea;

1) Max armor = cheap, if you play through the game, you should be able to buy it in Droknar. 15k and FoW was always intended for farmers.
2) weapons = nothing in this game.
Best weapons: there are none, a clean max damage sword does the job just like a 15^50 sword (unless in PvP, you need some better stuff for that), Collector give better weapons than those that drop etc...
I wish I could put up some pics now showing me and my party killing the Lich with Candy Cane Weapons, but my computer chrashed and I lost them
Point being: PvE doesn't require good weapons
3) Prophet's Path was the single greatest influx for gold, especially for Chinese Bot farmers, which was Anet's goal, eliminate those farmers so they have the Ebay moneyselling market for themselves .
4) If you must farm, try Hydras, Trolls, Ettins, UW, FoW or any of the other easily farmable spots for humans (not bots)
Also, the new area can be easily farmed with a 3-man party, the new boss drops a green (10-20k last I've seen) and the scarabs drop nice amounts of money (as well as gold weapons)
Note to self: go beat Lich with Candy Cane Weapons again

and true soloers find new areas and make new builds. others just read about it in the forums and copy.

It was to nerf botters, you just got hit by the splash damage.
And seriously, I know you're a human, but for gods sake try to adapt to the environment instead of bending the environment to your own needs.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I don't think anyone noticed before. You do the community a great service!

Yeah, you probably should have used search before making this thread, since this was in fact an ANNOUNCED part of an update. Also, making comparisons between millions of Jews dying and a computer game is pretty ludicrous. So I'm closing this.
