I was thinking that I really love my pet—and I really hate it when he dies. I started experimenting with a build that would allow me to keep my pet alive (he’s a wonderful bear from the Southern Shiverpeaks. I call him “Living Rug.”Disrupting Lunge Troll Unguent Comfort Animal Call of Protection Symbiotic Bond Life Bond Life Barrier Charm Animal It’s obviously that this build isn’t built to deal damage—you’re would have to rely on Marksmanship to do that. What might be a good idea is to substitute Barrage in for something—perhaps Life Barrier (the energy cost is insane anyways). So, this might be sufficient enough to do damage while keeping your pet alive.Barrage (Elite) Disrupting Lunge
  • Comfort Animal Troll Unguent Call of Protection Symbiotic Bond Life Bond Charm Animal I’d like to name this particular style of build “A Ranger’s Best Friend.” It seems fitting enough. Suggestions? Comments?

In this universe. In north america. That should keep you pedophiles guessing^^

This build is not at all fit for pvp.

    Pve yes.

Let me rephrase this so you understand more.

Barrage: Meh. I don't like it for pvp

Disrupting lunge: Ok. But until they improve the pet AI, this disrupting lunge is often a tad bit to late.

Comfort animal: There's a pet attack (forgot what it was) but it attacks and heals your pet.

    Troll Unguent: obvious

Call of protection: You already have to many things that keep your pet alive. How bout some skills that keep you alive^^

Symbiotic Bond: Replace with a pet attack

Life Bond: attack or pet attack, or evade skill

    Charm animal: Obvious

Also for pvp you must replace one of these skills for rez sig. It's the most important skill in pvp.

    Good Luck mate.

use ferocious strike (pet elite) and combine with distracting shot/savage shot as well as call of haste and disrupting lunge. Add in the beefed up power shot and u have decent damage dealing, e-management, and good interruption.

I find both of your builds rather weak, and may be the problem is that you are too focused on:

With your heavy foucsed in protective skills on the pet, and not a lot of offensive power, your role would be letting your pet and yourself being beaten more then hunting, espically facing heavy mod with life bound.

I dont see the need for anything but comfort too keep my pet alive. The rest of it is reduntant when you really think about it. If your pet is dead so often it is more reflective of your mechanical tactics IMO, ie. over aggro, wrong place wrong time, etc...
