Basically this toggles the glow/bloom HDR-like effect that GW likes. If you go to the tombs, mess around with this setting when you get to the altar in the HoH (or observer mode).

Makes the game look real nice... The button should be called "Make My Guild Wars Look Nice" On/Off.

Yeah, i dont really like it. It makes the game seem so blurry. I keep it off all the time.

Maybe its there to buff up the image quality on lower spec cards?

No, postprocessing is a set of high-level shader and lighting effects specifically geared for higer end systems. If you turn it on and it looks worse, then your card is most likely having a problem either understanding the instructions or it gets them, it just canna do it keptin. (2 points for who knows that reference...)

My X600XT is the slowest card I've seen run postprocess effects properly. I THINK my wife's old 6200 could as well, but don't quote me on that...

Nvidia 6200, Yes. ATi Radeon 6200?...um I don't really know.

I know that post process on an LCD screen can sometimes make it look a little brighter than its supposed to. But only if the monitor isn't calibrated.

Yea, x850 Pro here..so it can definately support anything..

If i were to leave it on, the game looks kinda blurry, and id have to turn the brightness down on my monitor..but then id have to turn it up whenever i close guildwars.

Without it on the game looks much crisper and doesn't bug me.

He meant nVidia GeForce 6200. And I'm on an ATI Radeon 9250 128MB AGP 8x and I can enable post-process effects and it looks awesome.

the nVidia 6200 is a Low End card, when I used one (for about 1 day) I couldnt get more than about 12 FPS from it, on Low settings :\

same with me. i have a 6800 GT and have it turned off. it does make the game kind of blurry and a bit brighter. turn it on when going to mineral springs. you'll go blind lol. the game looks much better with this feature off IMO. may be it's like this in guild wars. poorly programed. in other games with post-process effects, it doesn't bother me and looks much better than in guild wars.

I play Guild Wars windowed, so i can mess around with TS and msn and so forth, so i have the monitor gamma on a level that lets me see everything else normally

Are not those post process effects responsible for the absolutely beautiful reflections on say the floor of Glint's Lair? Oh yeah, you better beleive I have those on. I don't seem to have any issues with the brightness though on a 900:1 contrast ratio monitor.

I don't think I've ever turned those effects off, I always turn everything all the way up unless the performance becomes too low. So far on the X1800 XL this hasn't been an issue though.

I also play GW windowed because mainly when i maximize the game on my screen, i think its to big. The HUD just gets so big, or to small to where i can see most of my backround. So I prefer Windowed mode. Also because i do other things aswell.

I run a NVidia 7800 GTX, and a 21 inch flat/widescreen monitor, so i guess its big enough as is in windowed mode.

As for the effect. Its fun to have the extra shine and shadows.

That depends on if it was the PCI-E version or the AGP version.

I own the AGP version from Chaintech, factory OverClocked. IT gave me 30fps constant. And 18fps in cities with a ton of toons on screen.

No i get those dragons lair reflections with it on, i have checked most areas of beauty, and the post processing adds nothing but blur and too much brightness.

Yeah, thats why i posted this, because i thought it looked better off.
Im running a Nvidia G4 fx5900 ultra 256 mb
It looks better to me off, but now that i read this thread and toggled it on and off at TOA - look at the flames on the statue of Baltazar
Effects look better with it on, but overall the game looks better with it off.
Do i just need to tweak this some more, my card should be able to handle it, i paid 500 bucks for it o_0

Wow I use a geforce ti4600 agp with post processing and everything up to max and it doesn't bog my game down a bit.
