As a mesmer the biggest problem I've had when playing a shutdown build designed for more than one target at a time is finding the right ones. I try to keep an eye on the action but my eyes seem to be inevitably drawn to the skill bar or the skills being used by my target, so I just end up cycling with the next target key.
Does anyone have a more efficient way of choosing your target (referring to GvG or HoH)? Do you just point and click, or cycle through everyone?
How do YOU find your target?

The only way I could see being able to switch between two targets really quickly that isnt really efficient is being right next to one and calling the other one. Stand next to target one, scroll to target 2 and call him, then use the "target closest" to switch back. This doesnt work if you 1st target keeps moving though.

Force someone else to call ^^

cycling through the targets at the flag stand in gvg isnt that helpful, as you will end up targeting the footmen and archers way back at their gate. in HA it can be alright if you are facing only one team, but can be hard to do when in HoH or courtyard (3 teams at once.)
that said i try and use point and click as much as possible during the match, but do the initial scan through my next target key.

Get your priorities straight.
Does your build shut out warriors? Rangers? Casters?
Find the target on which you must shtuff, and then shtuff said target.
Naturally speaking, you do NOT want monks on their team to do their job or rangers on their team to stop yours.

One solution is to run 2 mesmers, and have them and differents targets. But if your going solo, What I do is focus primarily on one target and then just but piss off hexes on others (Diversion, Shame, Guilt, Arcane conumdrom, Etc), this seems to work, but I really don't like to play Shutdown Solo.

If I do not have a target in mind I select nearest target + tab to next target searching for a suitable one.
If I have a target in mind -say one who is killed and I am camping or one who is being a danger for some ally-, I use mouse clicking.

I use my e-denial-shutdown on monks, if not monks on enemy team, find other caster. Sure there is warrior hate builds a lot too.
