I saw a similiar W/mo build like this for the same map. nice to see you don't have to be a warrior to do it.

As long as you have /Mo you can do good farming with most other first professions.

Do you think he was a smiter/ elementalist all the way through?

It's really a sub-par build, as far as farming builds go, very limited on what you can take on. Won't get any high level drops like this but it does work for the mid ranges pretty effectively.

Here's the skill listing in order.

Shield of Judgement
Balthazar's Aura
Symbol of Wrath
Orison of Healing
Healing Touch
Healing Breeze
Zealot's Fire
Balthazar's Spirit

No I don't think so, it's not that good when teaming up with others.
Especially not with enemy monks around that cancel some of those spells.

It's a pure Suicide Monk build. It's good for farming runes etc. It's useless in all other situations and against enemies who can dispel enchantments. If you're a monk though, you can use this kind of build to get very rich and then change your setup for real PvE and PvP.

Wow someone is actually mirroring my vid, I feel special.

As for the strengths and weaknesses of that combo. Yes that design is for specifically riverside. The only true weakness is unlike the Mo/W it lacks knockdown protection. However I have the mana to take down any group of non-knockdown mobs, via having mana to spare for purges and cures.

Nothing to keep me from switching to an amnoon, or perdition farming build hehe. Or just as easy I can become your friendly neighborhood healer, ele nuker, blood god, take your pick, domination shutdown, I pretty much have all the skills from every attribute line I want for any situation cept uniques.

Also I don't use balthazar's spirit anymore, usually slot a hex breaker, or purge conditions in the 8th slot.

To answer Ashleigh, as I was leveling that character, I went from Fire/Blood e/n, then higher levels switched to air/blood, then I unlocked all the secondaries, went on a skill binge, and well now I just farm for myself and guildies.

What's the best way to get skill points endgame? I switched my secondary and am at 0 skill points. Levelling up for skill points past 20 is so slow.

Kill stuff around lvl 20 +/- true solo, you'll get around 64-120xp depending on level.

If you watch my xp bar during the different clips, all those clips were made in a 1 1/2 hour period. Specifically if you watch the 3rd fight, watch how quickly the xp bar moves when you kill 6 18's solo. Were they spiders or golems you'd get even more.

That is an awesome little vid. I'm not ready to go farming just yet. My el/mo is level 20, but she isn't "finished" with the game yet.

how many threads is this vid gonna appear in? lol

awesome build though, I actually replicated it and I'm LOVING it for farming! I make sure to always keep enough refund points handy to go full air when I wanna play arenas/tombs though

but anyway, I had a question about your build: at the end of the video you claimed to have 11+3 smiting, but how did you get the +3 in smiting being a primary elementalist? couldn't have been a rune....

In general? Nothing, just very different play styles. Neither is "better".

For farming? Elems can dish out a LOT more damage and to several mobs at the same time. Making as many things die as fast as possible is the key to effective farming.

still no explanation for how a primary elementalist can have a +3 smiting boost? I would really like to know cause it would make my character even more awesome

the hydra farming was very impressive. could you be more specific on your strategy for taking down those hydra? I couldn't tell exactly what skills you were using at the time

EDIT: oh yeah, one thing I would really like to know is how you prevent yourself from getting knocked down by meteor? or do you just kinda try to avoid it alltogether? and also, what about the devourers distracting shot?

Each group of creatures I fought in the video I had the basic backbone of skills, and only changed out one or two. The choice skill against hydras was protective spirit, so those big blasts only did 10% damage. If you pay close attention, I was getting knocked down, I was just casting divine boon and reversal fast enough to make up for it when I got back up. With the distracting shot, I really dont notice it half the time, as they waste it trying to stop reversal of fortune. If you are really getting hung up by distracting shot, target the devourer, and only cast your quick cast spells (rof, db) until you see him use the skill, then cast your long cast (soj, zf). Zealot's fire actually has a shorter cast time than distracting shot, due to the fact that they cast distracting shot *after* you cast zealot's fire. As long as you aren't moving, you should be able to get your spells off before they interupt.

I tried to show the att points in the begining, with the second picture. but due to limited hosting space, i had to compress to 512 bitrate, so now its kinda hard to see. The atts are smite 11+1+3 prot 10+1 df 10+1, other rune is a minor vigor, which I just updated to a major vigor. Armor is Censors (high armor low energy)- I also have a set of tats for high energy low armor, depending on what I am killing. Weapon is Smiting rod from desert collectors (max dmg, 20% chance improved casting and recharge of smiting skills) with defensive staff head (armor +5) and wrappings of fort +25.
The main thing about this build is it has absolutely no energy regen. Keeping 4 enchantments up 90% of the time. Thats why most of the time my 8th skill is a blessed signet, which gives me 12 energy (4x3) every 2 seconds, and sets off zealot's fire- its good for downtime. When against fast attacking enemies, there is no need for blessed signet, as essence bond and balthazar's keep energy up just fine.
