I've been playing as an elementalist for a while now, and I think the effects of some of the spells (visually) could do with a rework.
One that springs to mind is maelstrom. Wikipedia defines a maelstrom as:
"...a powerful whirlpool; a large, swirling body of water."
If you've seen the spell you'll know what I'm on about - it's pathetic. A few points of light in a semi-cohesive shape, that can hardly be seen. Compared to the Fire Storm or Meteor Shower I think this is terrible, especially considering that Maelstrom is a top-end spell (25 energy to cast).

I would agree with you there. I am a 3d artist i feel the effects are weak.

I agree with that they could do a bit of a retouching ^^
but not to make them too heavy on the machines

You should try using earth magic. Now there are some unnoticable spells. I think earthquake has no art. Everyone just falls on their ass. And come on, whats so magical about throwing a small, slow moving, rock at someone?

There's already a thread on this, something like, "You call that an Earthquake?!" as its title.
And as for Maelstrom, I call it 'puddle', not so affectionately. It's about as useful as summoning a puddle, anyway, and the visual effect almost looks like one.

Yes, repeat thread, a search would've done just fine. Keywords "earthquake" "skill effects" something of the sort should yield the results you're looking for. I'll edit this post with the link as I go find it.

Edit: Yep, both worked fine and showed this thread.
