IW and Dual Wielding?
Jarsha Silvertongue
Just thinking, if dual wielding hit twice for everytime normal wielding hit would wielding two Daggers pwn Flurry?
If so, should I hurry to become a Me/A?

can u weild the daggers without being a assain i think so not sure. therefore when using ILLUSNARY WEAPONARY it does no dmg from the weapon so flurry+daggers will own and i can see a nerf coming to IW

I know the basics of IW but when reading about 'Locust Strike' I discovered that there is only a certain chance that you strike twice, does any know what this is?
DieInBasra
The % grows with your dagger mastery, is all I know. So Mes/W won't work very well.
Dragannia
You also need to hit, IIRC, to have a chance to do a dual strike. So no, a Me/A will not work.
Bloodied Blade
How about a N/A or A/N with Order of the Vampire and Order of Pain?

Just to inform something, that all. (If IW works with dual attack)
Locust's Fury
Enchantment
For 27 seconds, you have an additional 20% chance to double strike.
cost: 10 energy | recharge: 30 second(s) | activate: 2 second(s)
Player Notes:
Duration time improves with more attribute points.

in critical hit so we cant boost it when we play mesmer.

Doesn't the chance for an off hand attack increase as you increase your dagger mastery skill? Without any dagger mastery, I don't think you have a chance to attack twice.

2% chance to get an offhand attack for each point in DM.

Even without the dual strike, daggers have a pretty fast attack speed. I don't remember the exact number, and I can't remember any assassing IAS spells/stances.
Does anyone know the attack speed on dual wielded weapons?

Dmg from IW is dealt directly to the enemy. This dmg can not miss. So I don't think it would matter is your offhand (second dagger) would normally hit or not. When useing a regular sword, they cant block/evade, and you cant miss when your blinded, so in theory dual wield should work just fine.

How about a Me/W weilding daggers?
Epinephrine
I believe it is 1.25, so a little faster than the 1.33 of an axe/sword. Testing by someone on guildwiki reported between 47 and 49 swings a minute (1.22 to 1.27 seconds)

Can a double hit activate during attack skills (non dual skills), and if so, is it a normal hit or does that hit also get any +dam from the attack skill?

Yah, this seems to be the way to go. I tested this today w/ preorder daggers and double hits do occur when using IW on a Me/W. This didn't happen often (guessing 1 or 2%, but it did trigger occassionally).
They didn't look faster than swords, but hopefully someone can get some definite info on that... I'm sure I wouldn't be able to 'see' 1.25 compared to 1.33. I would assume a Me/as would be ok, as you could put dagger mastery up to 12 to get an extra 24% chance to double hit, but that still doesn't outdamage flurry w/ IW. Batou of Nine
yall are funny. why not just go Assasin/Mesmer. Max Illusion. not 42 dmg, but with max crit strike (16), then DPS should still be crazy good. Then add Locusts Fury.... wow.
The following are estimated numbers using less than generous numbers... unless dual strike chance cannot reach that high.... Just think even at a 30dmg IW, with say 40% dual strike chance. Thats 4 dual strikes per 10 hits. Do the math... 30*(4*2)+(30*6) = 420 dmg!! <<< compared to regular single hit run of (30*10) = 300 dmg.... Now add flurry. or any other attack speed buff... and DPS goes even higher! Wooooooooooo doggy... EDIT:: yes, daggers ARE faster then swords and axes. During the Factions Beta Event, i tested on the Isle of the Nameless. Assasin atttack speed weilding a sword... then daggers... speed was noticably different. LightningHell
Locust's Fury is an elite.
Batou of Nine
darn.
Well, then i guess it all comes down to how high the dual hit chances can get with the assasin attribute... Rey Lentless
