mo/me help please
Jokr
i have been doing alot of research... now all i have is an idea... i havent been able to try this out so please correct me if i am wrong... but i am starting to believe a mo/me is a great pve and pvp build (a 55health invici monk)... has anyone played one? Is there a better build that can do good damage and be able to tank? i really dont want to make a paladin there are sooo many of them... i was also considering a necro/me but i have a feeling that is a very "fragile" character.... suggestions?

I like my Monk/necro normal skills plus suffering degen, sometimes spiteful. You can make anything work as long as you keep your protective spirit and breeze going and zealots fire.

Never have your second profession started off as Mo/W, since the only Warrior skill you'd use(or should use) for farming is Bonetti's Defense. Mo/Me is a great choice, it's very versatile. My Monk is a Mo/Me. It's awesome for bonders, who rely on Blessed Signet for their energy. So Mantra of Inscriptions/Signets helps out there. Also there are several hex removal spells, energy stealing, and many other options available, especially through the Inspiration Magic line. So I strongly suggest it, you can always switch to Mo/W later.
A Necro/Mesmer is also an awesome choice, I have one. There are so many options open here, especially with all the hexes at your disposal. I don't know of it being "fragile," there are plenty self defense/healing spells. Vampiric Gaze, other life stealing blood spells, and then Distortion for Mesmer. Many "SS Necros" bring Sympathetic Visage along too, as it drains adjacent foes' energy when cast on an ally. Arcane Echo is also awesome, you can double up on SS(Spiteful Spirit). So Mesmer is an awesome choice for just about any profession, definitely give it a shot.

Never use a 55 anything in pvp...unless you want to die instantly

You do realize that a 55 character is for farming? There are many areas/missions that have many enchantment strippers. It just sounds like you're planning one from the start?

well thanks for the imput so far... I am still really confused what route to go... i am stuck...
i currently have a necro/war as i mentioned in another thread.... it was fun when i made it when the game just came out... but they seem kind of weak now.... i want a good character that can do pve and pvp... and i dont want to be the first person to die... i am playing with combinations of monk necro and mesmer... i realize now the invici monk is just for farming... so it probably isnt the best choice... anyone else got any opinions? what is a good step up from necro/war?

Each character has a role. Monks dont usually tank in PvE groups. They heal or bond and provide some condition removal. Focus on your primary skills. After ascension, you could always switch your secondary profession to what you need. A monk/mesmer is a good combination for alot of things.
As far as Necro is concerned, they are very versatile as well. Necros can deal alot of damage in a variety of ways.
Learn your role in a group and you cant go wrong. You can make any build as long as you unlock all the skills primary and secondary.
