if you got it from a sorrows furnace quest, then its worthless.

It is not a quest item it say's that it make something warm cold and it is like an upgrade for something.

Yes it's a quest item. If I remember correctly, you get it by crushing Ice Golems under the crushers in SF while doing the quest were you pretend to be a slave. You put it on some dwarve's ale to change it from 'warm' to 'cold', just like the description says. I haven't done that quest in a long time so maybe it's that they changed the icon or something. Still, not worth anything.
