Heres the deal:
I work at a Best Buy (retail store) near my home. And I have been checking RSS (inventory program) for my own copy of Guild Wars Factions Pre-Order. WELL its a sad sight, WE HAVE NONE OUT ON SHELVES, yet we clain to have 5/10 left...

You might say wow the store only recieved 10?!

Yes, very true only 10 and i am a Product Process Spec. ...and guess what no one knows whats up with them(Meaning there not in the store). About fifteen other stores close to Rhode Island only have at max 12 Pre-Orders availible.(Ive yet to call to see if they physically have them)

My problem is this will there be more to ACTUALLY PUT ON SHELVES? Or what. Most people like myself go to the stores to pick up the copy physically, yes even a pre-order!

If theres any way to forward this to ANet themselves MODs, please do. There is a serious lack in the available Pre-Order situation.

If this doesn't get further than Guru, its word to all who cant find it physically on shelves....Major Electronic stores are simply not getting enough product. Address ANet as you see fit. I for one dont like buying many things over the internet.

Thx for your time,
-=King

How many pre-orders do you usually have in stock for similar titles? Not very many, from what I can remember.

Strange, the Best Buy that I got my pre-order from had about 20 copies left, maybe more. I'm just wandering if they are going to get the CE or not. Try to post in gwonline.net forums also, Gaile visits that forum too.

If its not the amount, its the fact that i work inventory, and i cannot find these last few..infact havent seen ANY of them while recieving into the store.

I have taken it appon myself to ask Managers, workers in Geek Squad and even the computer techs...all the same answer "havent seen it" or "never heard of it"

ANet whats the deal?

I gotta get to work now I will check to see if we have more coming in...and hell even try to find them yet again(if any left). If ya'll can keep this bumped for me till tomorrow I will get back to you. thanks in advance

Count yourself lucky if you even have a store that'll carry it in your town. The closest BestBuy / Futureshop / EB Games to me is 230 KMs to my West in a nice city called Edmonton. Unfortunately it would seem places like Wal-Mart and Staples won't be getting it at all... that's crap. (at least for me)

I've checked Wal-Mart, Target, Meijer, in my area, none of them have it. I would think a giant like Wal-Mart would...haven't been to Best Buy..because honestly, why would anyone ever go there to buy anything that's half price online.(other then to have it NOW, like I would w/ Pre-Order)

To make it even more odd, Target has an "exclusive" pre-order for Auto-Assault on the shelves for $0.99. Go figure.

I've seen many of these keys for sell online. If you are missing inventory it was probly stolen. Either before your store received it or right afterwards.

A fellow I game with in that neck of the woods said that he was told that none of the listed stores in his area are even stocking it Canada-wide. However, another I know in Vancouver who works at EB Games told me that they are, but keeping it under the counter.

It's been difficult to find along the coast as well. There seems to be a serious discrepancy between what the perceived demand was versus the actual demand. I don't know if this was Anet's error or the various stores. I'm betting that the word "expansion" made a number of chains think that it would have a lot less interest than "an actual game," not realizing that Factions also functions as a standalone.

i find Best Buy a bit iffy, i say quit your job mate I bought a copy of the game "Gun" from them which was faulty and didnt work. I go back to try to get my money (which icrcuit city gives money back) and all they did was give me another copy of the same game. I come home try to install it and the same exact thing happened. Thus ending my shopping at Best Buy forever. I assure you most other stores most likely have the pre-order, NOT best buy.

Why do you think the mods on this board can do anything about it?

I don't think I've ever seen a pre-order for anything at Walmart or Target, so that might not be a good barometer.

Doesn't matter, we don't have anyway. I live in Edmonton, and no one seemed to get very many, plus Factions has a 50% price increase. Prophecies is $50, Factions is $75. It had damn well better be worth a 50% price gouge.

You're complaining about having a few copies...think of the rest of the world here...Australia doesn't even have a mention of pre-order, hell, i don't think we even get a real pre-order...more like we order X release copies and you are assured one rather than bonuses...

Anyway, yes, if 5 have gone missing there's something wrong...10 copies total...well...depends on how close to a major city you live...i would assume they have more.

Isn't that the way Pre Orders are normally done?

I've known some preorders not get fufilled in the day that it was released. AND some had to wait a day or two because the inital shipment is usually no more than 10-20 units. But the second and third shipments are more as the distribution warehouses are shipping the full time.

Soul Shaker, EB Games and a few other stores in Australia should carry pre order. I live in NSW and just pre ordered from EB today. Depending on where you are you should be able to find a store that takes pre orders.

The problem is most stores like Gamestop, EB games, etc. have their own "reserve lists" for every new game regardless if it has a preorder packagae. And most of those stores had their reserve lists availible monthes before Anet even anounced the final Factions release date.

At my local Gamestop, as of right now 145 people have pre-ordered Factions, but Gamestop only received 30 pre-order packages from Anet.

Either Anet has no faith in their own games ability to sell, or they just to seem to release they are monthes behind in the whole pre-order thing since most game stores opened their lists weeks and weeks before Anet anounced their own pre-order package.

Which brings up the question, do I get a pre-order Factions package even though I pre-ordered through Gamestop before the pre-order package was released?

Keep in mind Anet are the developers, not the ones distributing the game. NCSoft the publisher handle that side of things. It's probably best to contact your local distributor (or whoever is acting on behalf of NCSoft) in your part of the world.

That or if you actually received some copies, and they've gone "missing" well then, you've some naughty employees working there sorry to say... not to tell you how to do your job or anything, but don't you get delivery notes of stock received at your store, stuff like that?

Custom, I work @ Best Buy 180 (Frisco, TX) in the Geek Squad and I know we ran into a problem of the pre-order being delayed. However, it wasn't actually showing as being there (it was in transit or inbound).

Gaile created another thread with a poll and she indicates that companies (Best Buy) can order more from ANet.

While I've done Best Buy Geek Squad for 3 years, I don't claim to know the ins and outs of inventory. Can you request a specific amount from the district warehouse? Maybe toss an e-mail up to someone in the district to see about getting more shipped out.

He's saying that that's what happened, but he can't find the product.

My not so local Gamestop told me it was first come first sever under the self pick up for a 5 dollar reserve. I reserved mine months ago before they even knew what factions was but I had to go down on a Saturday after work to make sure they kept my reserverd preorder...hows' that for crap...their excuse was we only have a limited copy...so why should I sooner then later?
