Thats right... Ive been using Thunderclap for fun over the last 7 months... Now all of a sudden, I lose the energy when striking foe with lightning, but they dont fall down. Im not using it on anything with anti knockdown or hex breaker etc... The skills says, when foe is hit by lightning, he and adjacent foes are knocked down, and you lose XX energy or thunderclap ends. Well I lose the energy, but no knockdown. WTF? I mean if they are not falling down, I should not lose the energy. At least thats how the skill reads to me. Either way, what was a pointless skill, now really SUCKS and cant even be used at all, even for fun.

Thunderclap has always taken energy with every lightning attack, regardless of knockdown. This is one major reason poeple precision-time their strikes: if you hit someone who is already knocked down, you still lose the energy. Strangely, Spinal Shivers does not work that way.

As for the no knockdowns, I can't really say from here.

Last fall, I could knock down enemies non stop with thunderclap, losing energy was not a big deal. Now it seems that the frequent attacks arent doing that anymore. Thanks for pointing that out... now Ill go toss that skill into the pile of useless elites.

Spinal Shivers is a single target interrupt. I made a post about Thunderclap mechanics theory, and I think that the reason Thunderclap causes energy loss is because of the AoE aspect; Whether or not the target you hit ends up knocked down, foes in the adjacent range are knocked down as well. Sadly, it's a bit rare to actually knock anyone else down in adjacent, so this is a bit annoying and useless.

I'd imagine it'd be nice if they added some kind of thunderclap animation/sound effect to indicate that it's still functioning.
