Warriors in beginners ringmail?

What's up with those high level warriors (15+), who still run around questing in beginners mail? For a healer they are a complete nightmare, and I am wasting 50% of my energy keeping them alive, while using my other powers to heal 6 others. I see them everywhere, and I wonder if monks should boycot them. Some of them are even tanking, and I have the feeling that I'm missing something. When I complain, they state "Don't heal me than, if it bothers you!" I feel so bad after that. I don't want anybody to die, because other party members will waste their res signets on them anyway.

its because they wait to be at droknars forge to buy the max defense armor. They dont want to waste their money buying armor that they will change.
so you see them wander around in higher lvl places before droknars forge with their pre searing armor.

That is what I thought too, but why not simply pay a runner? Why questing with people? I would simply do some farming around Ascalon, untill I have the dough to pay a runner. It cost about 3K, to hire a runner from Ascalon to Droks. I have that money on me in one morning farming (Some people do it even faster). That way you don't bother other people who are seriously doing quests.
My monk does the farming, so my other chars get the armour

ah well, beats me. Its true that getting to beacon s perch then getting run to droknars from there should be the best thing to do, but then again, they might even be so greedy that they dont want to pay a runner

Because this is their first time through the game. They have no cash, but they have been informed by other "helpful" people that they should not buy armor until Droknar.

"Helpful" indeed. In my DiabloII days, I always asked first, before I joined. A real beginner (Not to be mistaken with a noob), plays the game and is happy with every armour/weapon upgrade. I did that with my first char. I bought new armour whenever possible, and tried to avoid dying as much as possible. With every char I create, I already have 2.5K on me, to upgrade as fast as possible.
Think about the poor healer, who sees your health drop 75% with every hit you take. I most certainly will not cast mending on them, because I need every bit of regeneration I can get.

not everyone likes "running" their way through the game even if it's just to Droks. obviously the game wasn't built with that in mind so for first time characters it is kind of lame. it would be a good idea for them to upgrade when they get to the desert though or just before it. it's not like the amor cost that much there or you can get it from collectors.

Sad thing is, they could get max armor desert armor for basically:

Free, if they're willing to grind for collector items, or

VERY cheap, if they're willing to buy said items. Bleached Shell collectors only take 2 shells now, and the other odd-and-end items needed for armor sell for very cheap (50-100 gold each).

I started to take a fondness to the look of desert armor, so I went about getting some. It took only a few hours to farm / buy everything I needed. Hell, the majority of the time was spent getting to the collectors who were out in the middle of nowhere.

you do know that there is ringmail available from crafters, right?

i believe it's the cheapest armor. hence, first timers without a lot of money will opt for that.

Judging from the actions and response of the warrior in question, I wouldn't suspect them to be a newbie. I'd be inclined to take them at their word and not heal them if thats the best they could reply with. If they explained they were saving their money, couldn't afford better, or whatever, then I'd be content with that and do my best to keep them healthy for the rest of the journey.

A little courtesy goes a long way in my book. :P

No, that is not what I meant. It is this armour I am talking about. The one you get when you create a character.

That is truly sad then considering the free armor available from collectors.

It is not limited to warriors though, any profession is eligible for this selfishness. I did Thunderhead with a naked elementalist one time.

crafted ringmail looks exactly the same. it is available as far as quarrel falls (according to this guide) and has up to 59 AL. that seems about right for the level 15 warriors you mentioned.

Ahhh ... the joy of pugs! Have never had someone tell me to not heal. Just the opposite. Elemetalists (and other squishies) who insist on tanking and then yell "HEAL ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!" "Don't you know how to heal?"

I learned to laugh again.

Ascalon crafted armor is identical in looks to the pre stuff.

Yeah, that one is pretty impressive. Different boots, though. I take back what I said.

Someone may lock this now. It seems to be a non-issue.

Ascalon boots for the global damage reduction, at least until they get fixed.

I have been in a situation where I played the healer. And I opted(sp?) to not heal the warrior with begginner armor. And I told him that I would not heal him. And he just kept dying over and over and over. My team needed my energy. So yes I boycott bad armor'd warriors.

to me that seems kinda wrong, at least try to heal him when you have the spare energy, not just boycot healing him as you said.

I've been in the same situation as the OP; I was healer monk in a PUG in Thirsty River, and one guy was taking enormous amounts of damage. I did my best, but he died 2-3 times during the mission. I don't know exactly what that guy was wearing, but it was Lions Arch or earlier armor.
But I mean, what can you do?

I'd like to know why AL 50 armor can be purchased in Ascalon, and there isn't anything better until you get all the way to Quarrel falls. The Denravi again has another step up. Two missions then another armor increase at Amnoon. Yet the two collectors in Amnoon have better offerings than the crafter, but both require items you're no where near being able to aquire. What genius came up with that ludicrous series of events?

I would of asked to view it in the trade window to see if it was presearing or a higher al.I still and alway will like the ringmail and collectors armor and that goes for the rest ofthe professions.I used Ascalon untill I got my Forge armor.

Where did most but their absorbtion runes though on the top and leggings or just one piece as I had mine on both with no vigor?

There's no point to having more than one rune of the same type unless you're 55'ing it up.

The Whole armor collectors is stupid, it does'nt really make sense untill the jungle, and then the collectors are so far out of the way, nobody can get to them.

It does sort of make sense in the desert, as most of the collectors are near the towns, and all of my characters have the desert set wich is the same as base Droks, along with Droks. So you get the stuff for the collector, farm or buy, you ascend and get a good set of Droks and keep the collector for show, that about it.

hmmmm I seem to recall that you can look at armor in town.

Warrior: Can I get in?
Monk: Let me see your armor....that looks like beginner Ringmail.
Warrior: Its crafted
Monk: Really show me in Trade window
Warrior: ...Trade window
Monk: the button that says trade
Warrior:.....uhhh I can't show you cause its customized
Monk: I can't wear it but I can see it
Warrior: .......uhhh ok (shows armor)
Monk: It has starter armor stats.
Warrior:.....ya about that well you see.... (runs to different distict)

Using collector's one form desert until I get Factions. Factions warrior armor is nice. I never liked Gladiator's or platemail that much. The only one I sort of liked was knight's but that has horrid stats due to the absorption issue.
