Question about last 15 attribute points *spoiler*

I have done the quest for 15 attribute points where you talk to the snake folk in the desert.

I understand I need to talk to one of the ghosts that gives a quest for a second profession, and that will lead to the Hero's Challenge quest for the last 15 points.

But I like my second profession. I am afraid if I do the alternate second profession quest I will be stuck with it and my current secondary skills will poof.

So my question is, if I do a secondary quest profession, am I required to switch upon completion of the quest? Or can I say "there, I killed your beasty. But I am keeping my old secondary profession thank you. Now give me my new quest for my points."

How does this work?

you do not have to change your second profession, you do the quest, and when you return for the reward, the questgiver asks if you would like to become the class which you did the quest for. here just close the dialog box or walk away.
