can this be overclocked? also wat does this mean,
I only wished I would have gotten the r480 chipset so I could unlock the extra 4 pixel pipelines, but I'm not complaining... not in the slightest..... Definitely a happy camper
it was a review on it, im afraid it means i cant overclock the card?

Considering your obvious lack of technical expertise, do you really think you should even be considering overclocking anything?
Or do you just have so much money to toss around that you don't care if you destroy a component here or there?

Res, you have no clue.
Unlocking extra 4 pixel pipelines on a Graphics Card does not determine whatsoever if your Card is overclockable or not.
To answer your question, yes, your card IS overclockable...

There's little purpose in overclocking your video card when it's already at the level that it is besides trying to burn things up and crash constantly.
I found your review on Newegg a bit interesting... do you really have all this stuff overclocked?
Can you even run dual channel and a single channel at the same time? An increase of .4 GHz on the processor is kinda nuts too... I don't think it will last very long.
-edit- You say your processor is overclocked at 2.12 GHz but then say that you're overclocked to the level of a 3200 Barton... The core speed on a 3200 is 2.2 GHz, a 3000 or 2800 is closer to what you're getting as they run at 2.17 GHz and 2.08 GHz respectively.

Other Thoughts: First - NEW EGG ROCKS!!! I Had major issues with this card at first, but turned out to be incorrect drivers. Ran ATI radeon9600 pro prior to this, and tried to just use those drivers... NOT..... once i did a Drivercleaner of the old drivers and installed Catalyst 6.3 with settings to "application preference", everything rocked. I was worried my AMD 2.12ghz (OC'd) wouldnt keep up, but boy was I wrong.... this card can handle almost anything you toss at it. My rig: ABIT NF-7s (newegg) AMD barton 2500 (OC'd to 3200) 1.5gb dual channel corsair value memory (1gb dual channeled + 512 stick) Audigy2 sound WD caviar ATA150 HD (also from newegg) WELL WORTH THE $$!!!! |

Umm .4 OC on a CPU is nothing if the right cooling even just good air cooling almost any CPU can reach that most of my friends which are avid OCer's have there CPU's Oced to almost 1 Ghz over stock Ghz speed and hey the worlds record OC is a Pentium 4 3.4 Ghz running at 5.5 Ghz stable and max reachable GHz is 7 Ghz stable in bios but won't boot in to windows .4 OC is nothing like right now i have my AMD Athlon 64 3500+ NewCastle core running at 2.7 Ghz and Newcastles don't even OC very well you just have to know what you doing to push the limits oh ya my cooling is a Thermalright XP-90 with a Vantec Tornado fan its loud but i coulden't pass up the 119 CFM
And if you looking for a good OCing video card and good price get the GTO2 ensted of the normal GTO the 2's are knowen for there great OCing potental some OC'es i have seen on thoes cards are faster then the X850XT PE
sorry for the no punsuation just when i get a thought in my head i just type it out and kinda forget it
Idel temps 37*C
Load temps 45/46 *C sometimes reaches 55*C on hot days in the summer

The GTO2 can be modded by flashing the bios with an 850xt bios, the GTO cannot, so please do not try this you could bad flash your card and render it useless.
As I have said before gain some experience before you try anything, learn to crawl before you try marathons.
EIS m8, don't you'll only confuse him..........

Another crucial factor to keep in mind is that because if the increased clockspeed the heat output will increase. Therefore keep in mind if you plan on overclocking you need extra cooling (unless the temps with the original cooler are acceptable).
It's not very likely you will kill the card due to faulty settings. The card will just reset to its original settings once you reboot.
If I were you I would just get a gfx "pre-overclocked" by the manufacturer, so you will still have your warrantee.
PS: if you should decide to start experimenting with overclocking I sugest you use something like an old pentium 1

@Old Dood.
I laughed when reading all the responses also.
The first 2 responses seemed somewhat hostile, then people start blaming other people for writing reviews.
SO WHAT if he DID write the review?
Do you want a prize for figuring out he did? Or do you just want to ridicule him?

No.
No.
No, no, no, NO.
We're not covering OCing in this type of setting. That's something experienced people comfortable with the hardware and ABLE to either REPAIR or REPLACE hardware do.
The new record in windows is close to 7 GHz and max speed is edging closer to 9. Newer manufacturing processes have given rise to that. I had a 3 GHz 3800+ on air.
If we wanna talk OCs, I can slap down some world records on a shoestring and say beat that, but there's no point. This forum is intended for those looking for help with Guild Warsm, not as a human-powered search engine and get them to do it yourself site.
Sorry we all had to see this. Closed for business.
