A Monk's Path help.

I've been trying to switch my secondary class to Monk after Ascension but I can't seem to do the mission. My problem is that everytime I aproach the Boss (Soul Eater or something) I am supposed to kill it disappears into nothingness and a hell of a lot of scarabs now pop out from where it was last seen. By the way the objective marker is still pointing at that location.

My issue is that I am not sure if it's a bug or something, I tried staying there and kill all the scarabs but they seem to be coming out endlessly. There's so many of them I eventually die (along with everyone). I've tried this many times, always same scenario. Maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Has anyone done this quest? If so can you tell me how exactly? Thanks in advance.

You must defeat all the waves of Scarabs to lure out the Eater of Souls.

Best way and I think the only way is to get a good tank and a lot of AoE to take out the scarabs. The scarabs are very buggy so most of the time won't attack anyone unless they are in melee range, useful for aoe.

"Meator Rain" works nicely and so does firestorm.

thanks for the tip. i got this done as well. switched my w/e from earth spells to aoe fire spells. works like charm. might even be a easy farming spot since they get stuck most of times and let you kill them.

where do i find this quest? i did 4 other paths and can't find this one.
