I was trying to sell a superior vigor in droks for a while for 26k... after about 20 minutes of spamming however, I got really bored and sold it to the rune trader for 21k. I thought that was gonna go fast, oh well.

If you find yourself constantly saying "damn, if only I had 39 more health", the problem isn't your equipment

You do not NEED that equipment. You WANT that equipment.

If you are a casual PvP player then you probably don't need perfect gear - it won't matter enough for you to care.

If you are an intense PvP player then you probably should be using a PvP character if you can't afford to kit out your PvE character. Yes a fully setup PvE character is better than any PvP character - I have two, a monk and a warrior. Those two bagloads of armour I carry around on my warrior help along with the four different axes and three different shields, and a similar thing with the monk.

Is it enough of a difference that it's noticeable? Not hugely.

Wow, hold on just one minute.

You had crap like that and couldn't sell it for 1k?

And I wasn't informed?

I see people trying to sell tons of great stuff all the time at 1/10 of the price they would have got 6 weeks ago. Thats why I asked all of your opinions. Then again I see people still selling at prices from 6 weeks ago. Those are the ones you see in LA dis 1

This is a good point--if it suddenly became as convenient to sell as simply dropping an item off at the local auction house, people might not be as likely to simply trash a lot of the items they don't want to waste time selling. Which would point to a need for more (and rarer) items (whether they be skins or whatever).

On the other hand, it might create a little bit of a market for lower quality items...I learned the hard way that you just don't bother trying to sell a purple 14 armor tower shield, because you get to level 20 so quickly there's just no market for things like that. But having an auction house might give people more flexibility when equipping themselves for a build that only had room for, say, 5 in marksmanship.

If you have help you can ascend and get to lvel 20 in one day, If you farm for a week or so (at a slow pace) you'll get enough money for everything you need, and next to no time at all if you go the collector route.

The point is Guild Wars isn't a particularly lengthy game, and doesn't require much time to get a decent amount of money. Thus after 10 monthes alot of players have pretty much everythign they will ever need. Factor in green items which come perfect, and that takes away another large portion of the market. Thus, the only people left buying are pretty much newer players, or people buying their 4th and 5th equipment set-up just for the sake of something different.

And this all has to do with the length and the time it takes to do things in Guild Wars, I mean 10 monthes and the economy is starting to crack at the seams. While other MMORPGs like FFXI that have been around for 3+ years are just starting to feel the effects of buyers losing power and the economy dwindling.

Hahaha... Fair enough. But they are slight advantages that someone could get in PvP for free.

I just bought a Furious (9/10) Battlepick of Fortitude (+28 Health) for 25k in total

I guess the 'economy' isn't that bad, but it did take some farming and parchment trading to get 25k (though, I'm sure if you managed to pickup a good rune drop or two you could still do the same). But I NEED my 9+ health from the Superior Vigor!! ;.;

Gold farming and chests have ruined to economy for weapons and the such. But it's also a fad for somethings. For example, a while back a perfect 15^50 longsword all modded was going for ~250k, now you can get one for say 100k. Different weapons have different streaks, but the decline of the economy is, imo, due to the chests(of old and new) and the farms and millions of bots(do not start ranitng about bots).
