Hmmm...as I see it, four is actually a real big gift from ArenaNet. Thanks, ANet! Like someone said before, they're not getting paid for all this extra room for our "alternate" characters. IMO I think one is enough, two max. First, you make a character to unlock everything for PvP. If you're a RP kind of guy, then you can simply Xunlai Storage all the sentimental items and gold and remake a new character. If you're a PvP'er, then simply unlock, delete, and create a PvP character. When you're bored of that, delete and make a new one. They start at lvl 20 anyways.
Just my opinion, because one slot is the bare minimum we need to play the game, and we aren't giving ArenaNet much else other than the right to play the game. Four slots IMO is a boon, and if you find you need more, don't you think Guild Wars is a decent enough game and ArenaNet a decent enough organization that you would shell out an extra $50 to buy another account?
