Best Droknar Armor?
Neriandal Freit
What is the best armor I can get from Droknar?
Basically what I am doing is I just got a run fro mAscalon to Sanctum and to Droknar. I plan to buy my Necromancers armor at Droknar, get to Lv. 20, and then get Asecended (So I can take him to Factions ).
Whats the best armor I should get???

Depends on which type of necro you're going with AND if you care about looks.

Well, I went with N/Mo for obvious reasons, only because I dontk now of much else, and I already have a Me/N so I didn't htink it fit to do a N/Me lol.
ANd yes, looks are a bit of a matter to me. But its not like it'll matter much longer with Factions coming up lol.

N/Mo ... so I assume minion master?
Scars and Bloodstained boots are the commonly accepted ones. I prefer to throw on a Tormentors or Necrotic chest piece, but its by no means a necessity.
Bloodstained boots are the only "essential" pieces.

Bloodstained boots are the only "essential" pieces. Oh I already know the Boots are the essential ones. I dont like the scars tho, I mean I dont want to be naked in the cold, I'm sorry lol.
I'll check in on Necrotic and Tormentors tho and go from there.
Edit: Oh, and I went with N/Mo because I didn't think a N/ME would suit since I already have Alsitha Freit, my Me/N. And at the time I didn't think of anything else would be "accepted" to get Aseended and what not.

Anyone got a Cough Drop plx? Nice I agree with this for the looks cultist is the best but it's so common. I just went with a mix of 15k I didn't really like any of the droks stuff.

I don't care about the looks as much as the stats. So I take the scars, but also took tormentors and Fissure scars (got them before they added shards to the reqs by two days.)

In real life I would say "eww" to goths as well, but I like the looks of the scars on the female necro. I mean, she is a necromancer, after all, right? And the energy bonus is nice.
I have full 15k scars on my (female) SS necro, and Bloodstained boots, Tormentors leggings, and chest and arm scars on my male MM necro. Both look nice, imo.

I'm thinking about the Tormentors and/or Necrotic tho

Might find your answer in the Factions sub forum instead of here in the Necromancer forum... (and I don't know the answer)

If you are thinking you are getting new armor when Factions comes out then skip the Droks armor (except boots) and use the collector armor from the desert, it is free.

Well, I'm half way convinced we're going to be reset with our current charaters (unless we're going to surpass Lv. 20, which I doubt and hope not so 'soon' after prophecies), and that we wont be able to use Tyrian Gold in Cantha, and will have to earn a new system of gold (jade anyone?) to use there.
So it doesn't bother me spending money on Droknar Armor, being ran to Sanctum/Droknar. I'm just concerned about getting Asecended so my Freit brothers can go to Cantha (an magically learn of a Ritaulist brother! :P)

The ship appears on the map when you get to Lions Arch, doesn't it? So you shouldn't have to be ascended, just make it as far as LA.
Unchain
I hate the looks of scars, so I saved to get FoW scars. Hoorah. I use those now, alond with Bloodstained Boots if I go N/R. If I go N/W though, I switch to full 15k Necrotic for the armor bonus.
ump
I did the same thing for my necro that I did for my monk. I went with a defensive set for chest and legs (necrotic and censors) in order to have a higher AL 62.5% of the time. Then, I went with energy on the hands and feet (scar and ascetic). Obviously, if I go minion master, I use Bloodstained Boots. My monk looks great and unique without sacrificing stats, but my necro looks like a beggar at least without the bloodstained boots (but I don't care).

Nopers. You have to be Asecended to travel to Cantha, I'm preety sure I read it on here on the forums and articles.

So if I went all Necrotic armor would I really be hurt by having less energy than with Scars? I mean, if you have enough points into Soul Reaping is energy that much of a problem? I'm new to MM, so thanks in advance for the advice.

Then you should not have gotten a run to Droks, but thats a different discussion for a different kind of thread.
Bonelace and Fanatic have armor versus piercing damage.
Tormentor (coolest looking armor by the way) and Necrotic have a disadvantage towards holy damage. But you wont encounter that much.
Unless you go to UW.

I've already been to there and looked it all over lol.
I was thinking of Fantatic for Verlukail...

How exactly does the holy damage weakness stack? Do 4 pieces of armor really give a +20 to damage no matter where in the body you're hit?
Neriandal Freit
I believe that is how it goes, yes. I dont know for sure from personal experince, but that is what I believe.

It's already been tested that it doesn't even make a difference, at least from what I've read and experienced. I'd rather have the extra +10 armor than that anyways.
Black Tormentors FTW!

I thought they fixed it recently... Seems like I'm stealing more corpse now.

Doesn't matter the +10 armor is way more worth than the Bloodstained boots' ability anyhow. I use all Tormentors and still play MM as good as anyone else.
BTW, Tormentors is just a more expensive version of Necrotic, but if you have the gold, Black Tormentor's looks pretty sweet. That's why I like using my necro lol.

That is not true. Tormentor's and Necrotic have the exact same stats but different looks. But the 15k Tormentor's looks more like 1.5k Necrotic if that's what you meant.
moriz
boots are one of the least likely places that you'll get hit. in fact, the +10 armor is quite useless on the boots, and you'll get slapped with a +5 holy damage (global, by the way) on you.
in other words, NEVER use the tormentors (or necrotic) boots and gloves.

Yeah, there sure is A LOT of holy damage in PvE.

moriz
my point still stands: the extra armor on the gloves and boots are pointless, and not worth the risk of the extra holy damage. there might not be alot of holy damage, until you run into a group that uses it. nothing more embarrassing than dying to bane signet and banish.
Markaedw
Necrotic and tormentors are good for the 70 all, bonelace and fantics are also good for the 65 +15 against pericing.
The - 5 holy damage does stack, so if you are using necrotic and tormentor, you want to have a second set for when you run into anything that cast holy damage. I keep a set of bonlace for my MM build, I use the desert collector for my blood rit/tormentor build, the top, gloves and pants are easy enough to get.
There isn't a lot of creatures that cast holy damage outside of the FoW and UW but enough that you want to be prepared.
