Extra Stuff worth buying?

So i bought the game today and was reading misc stuff on website and stuff and it said something about purchasing chapters and i was all like chicka chicka what what!?!

so can anyone tell me what are these "chapters" and what do they do?

and how much do they cost?

and are they worth buying?

Chapters are basically the upcoming expansions of the game. They're set to be released every 6-9 months. YOU DON'T HAVE TO BUY THEM. When they're released, and if you choose not to buy them, you can still keep playing GW like usual and you'll still be able to play with your friends who have bought the expansions. The only crux is you won't have access to the new areas etc.

They will cost "the comparative market price".

I personally think they'll be worth buying. Each chapter's content will be as much as the original game. But then I'm also a GW addict. ^.^

I personally think it's a waste of time with chapters. It's just to make more money. I prefer updating the game with big major patches instead like WoW. I can't afford every single chapter they release. It'd be much better with a whole patch =)

They ARE giving you patches. 2 new explorable areas are due out in the summer, all for free. ^.^

The Chapers ARE to make more money... since Guild Wars is free per month, they need some way to make some money, since although they have greatly reduced the costs of running the game they still have to pay to have customer service and people making the patches, etc., and without any source of revenue other than the sale of the original product it would be very hard to keep Guild Wars going, impossible actually.

And as Joysze just said they're giving you some free stuff too.

I know i will buy all the chapters when they come out i dont want them to start charging a fee every month......id reather pay 50 dollers every 6-9 months then lets say 10.00 every month

yeah the update for the two free chapters in on wed. so yeah its free :/ so dont complain
