Do Bots make good farmers?

Bots are programs used to do repetitive tasks over and over again. They're illegal for usage in most online games because they enable certain players to gain advantage over others, in addition to increasing the server load (a botting player can bot 1 or more accounts the entire day, without pause).
I realize this does not answer the original question, but this is all that need be said.
