Making a monk, help me decide on secondary.

Should my secondary be elementalist or mesmer? I've never played a monk, elementalist, or mesmer before lol. Fill me in on some advantages and disadvantges on both being secondary. This is for PVE.

Depends.....wanna be a pure healing Monk or what?

For Healing Monk you could go Monk/Anything since you'll most likely use the Monk skills only and the 2nd profession doesn't really matter
For a Protection Monk I'd either go Monk/Warrior or Monk/Elementalist for either Tactic-Skills or Earth-Wards
For a Smitting Monk it's actually up to you...you could add Necro or Mesmer or anything else for extra skills...

A good secondary monk (example = protection) would do rather well with a necro secondary and having either blood is power or blood ritual to keep the energy levels of your primary monks high.

i am a Monk/Necro and so far, i find that it lends itself very well toward Healing/Smiting.... i use the occasional blood spell to supplement my healing abilities... if you do it right, its VERY powerful...

Made mine a Monk Mesmer, and I kind of like it. I think it will play better in pvp than pvm. right now most of my skill bar is Monk skills. Just two mesmer skills. We'll see how things progress as I get more skills =)
