Hey everyone, first post here.
My first character in guildwars was my R/W, I first started with a bow using fast attack speed and ignite arrows. It didnt quite work for me, I'm sure it has worked for others, first I tried a sword build:
Troll Urgent
Lightning Reflexes
Whirling Defense
Sever Atary
Gash
Hundred Blades (didnt have it at that time, but it's the same idea) [ELITE]
Apply Poison
Dodge/Storm Chaser
But because I didnt have 100 blades and wont get that until atleast ring of fire I went with an axe build which turned out to work out just as good if not better.
Troll Ungent
Cyclone Axe
Dismember
Cleave/Hundred Blades [Elite]
Lightning Reflexes
Whirling Defense
Dodge/Storm Chaser (rather take storm chaser as it's excellent for chasing, long duration.(
Apply Poison
Optional-
-Res signet, instead of DismemberI would
-Barbed Trap, same
-Healing Spring for early levels
I'm using a Axe that lengthens the poison duration , together with a shield that adds +10 armor and life. On switch I'm using the same shield paired with an Earth damage Axe which is amazing for those high armor warriors/creatures.
Axe Mastery -11
Tactics -3
Expertise -7 (+1 for optimal effects)
Wilderness Survival - 11
Comments and critique appreciated.
My R/W build

Less comments please, this is overwhelming.
Perhaps people are skeptical, a few others on other forums were, but this class is amazing at tanking (while not taking damage) and dishing out damage. Works amazing in PvE, needs some tweaking when it comes to PvP (mostly traps) even though the current build works really good against warriors.

Hmmm... my only question to you is.... Why go R/W if you're sticking primarily with W skills... Might as well make a pvp character that's W/R and get the better armor with your same setup for pvp. You'd have the majority of skills unlocked, and could still keep this guy for PvE. Nice build though as a warrior.
Personally I stick with the mixed builds in random group pvp since I'm never sure what roll I'll need to play. But as soon as I pvp with the guild, the solid R or solid W build pops out.
Nice though.

Well.. it's quite heavy dependand on expertise which isnt available for warriors. Whirling Defense and Lightning Reflexes grant a 75% block/dodge rate for ~25 seconds
And then there is dodge.
Not that this build isnt possible with warrior as primary, it would just play rather different as it would focus on enduring damage instead of dodging/blocking it.
