Thing i HATE About guildwars...
Deathknightofhell
I love GW, i love the classes... i love the areas.. but this game doesnt have 1000s of rare items or items to hunt for... i missed item hunting in GW item hunting was alot of fun in D2 and WoW why doesnt GW have a vast unique ammount of items?

Because this vast array of items you talk about would either have to be a lot better (or who would go for them) or have amazing skins. Personally i think that they dont have these because it would simply take too long to create all the skins that the player base would ever want. Looks are great for an item but i would rather have them put out more content(as in playable areas) more often than have them work on new weapons. thats just my opinion though.

because PvP doesn't require multitudes of unique items..

They do need more skins though. And more greens. But that'll come in time.

D2 had tone of uniqes and 30 skills per character class. GW has fewer "uniques" and ~150 skills per class. So you have ~300 skills of which you may only choose 8 to use at any given time.
Its not just "kill kill kill" and hope for a drop. It's more about thinking, and requires much more attention and skill development (player skill, not skill aquisition).

Otherwise we would still have the same ol' drops, the same ol' stats, and the same ol' looks. AND I am most definitely sure that Anet has plans for all new items in Cantha.

Diablo had a ton of uniques - True
They also had a ton of different stats
Some were made for only super high level characters, some were made for level 5s. Guild Wars has uniques for level 20 only. Most of the uniques in D2 were pretty... "useless" because if you didn't have the uber leet item, it didn't matter.
Theres a lot more to this, but this is one small reason

I "dislike" (hate is such a strong word) the fact that we only get four character slots. It's just not enough! ><". Also, I dislike the fact that if we merge Guild Wars: Factions and Guild Wars together, we only get two additional slots.
By the way, is this thread just him showing his dislike or am I suppose to reply with what I dislike?

I think this thread is becoming more about the use of proper English and punctuation in the forum than it is about anything else.
Personally, I don’t care for the elitism that seems to be so prevalent in game. I understand it, but I also find it unfounded for most people who contribute to it.
Worse still are the build Nazis; those people who insist you bring exactly this build into a mission/farm every single time. Yes, certain skills and combinations are helpful, but there is no need to turn every necromancer into a carbon copy of the same cookie cutter SS or MM build. Diversity breeds innovation, and stifling change is a sure road to nerfs.

PvE doesn't have them because the PvP crowd (some, I'm not even sure the majority) complain that the totally sucky PvE char that no one should ever use because it sucks totally owns.
Yes, it isn't possible to have a totally terrible character that has such an advantage it's unfair (either the PvE char sucks or it doesn't - it can't suckily own everything - see threads on "unfair" items us PvE (who you should never use for PvP) players have that make us all powerful) - that doesn't really matter.
They are trying to balance the two crowds perception and that's difficult. For PvE variety is it - especially with rare stuff. For PvP we have to have all options no matter what.
It's like playing a primary nuker secondary healer - totally different energy management and you are going to make each side not as happy as they can be.
*shrug* I don't really advocate splitting the two sides (which my post seems too) - IMO the PvP char gets the advantage of total flexibility and easily getting perfect weapons and PvE chars get stuck with not a whole lot of flexibility and hard to obtain somewhat better weapons. However, few seem to see it that way so we end up with the current balance - PvP irritated over a few slightly higher powered PvE items and PvE'ers irritated over lack of rare items.
Guild Wars is still better than pretty much anything else to me so I guess I can not complain too much.

The lack of such items is what makes this a great game. A new player can become competative with the long established crowd in a week (stats-wise). So unlike diablo (havent played WoW), where after 2 months you will probably not have the enigma armor (which eventually everyone has). Imo it makes for a more diverse playing field to not have them.

I know your serious and relatively to D2 that is true...but take a real look at pve and think about those statements

where is the player base in GW...doing what MMO players have always done
so A.net needs to either concede that players will be players and give us some more skins or find a creative way of getting players out of the farming rut.(both I admit they are trying...good job A.net with the Factions changes)
though I think given the idea of expansions we have plenty of skins
and it'll be much better if the update schedual is kept up on as you have to realize we've been playing GW for a pretty long while
I mean removing the gear/book/keg trick would go a long way to improving the current situation.

1. The hunter - This player wants to spend his time exploring, fighting, completing quests, etc. He goes through the game with multiple characters, but eventually he runs out of things to do, and turns his mind to farming.
2. The gatherer - This player loves farming, loves to get rich, loves having collections. It's his way of enjoying the game. He will play to find the good farming spots first, and enjoy them before others find out. It's an equally valid way to play the game, and alot of people prefer it.
The problem comes when the hunters all become de-facto gatherers. The game can lose its sense of equilibrium. Everyone in a town spams for farming groups, not questing groups, and new players get the sense that gathering is the purpose of the game.
Anyway, if each six month installment has as much content as Prophecies, hopefully the natural hunters will not grow bored, and we'll see less crossover between the two groups. We shall see.

Another thing I hate about GW is that ArenaNet wont give items back. Like I stupidly deleted a perfect gold staff I literally clung to for my ranger and QQed over it for a few days.
Yeah, Yeah I know their policy on it and stuff. BUT STILL T_T

One thing that sets GW apart from games like d2 is that any weapon can be as good as the next. No one item is so brokenly overpowered that everyone uses it. (Enigma armor in d2) The collectors max armor can provide you with similar armor stats and same base armor protection as Droknars armor. Same thing applies to weapons.
Im glad its like this. MF runs in d2 sucked...
