It's a joke based on a D&D skit by the Dead Ale Wives. "The Darkness" enemies you fight in Tombs are also based on the same skit.

Why would you use it with IW? You can't put an enchant mod on it.

This brings up an interesting question. Is the +9 vs. Ogres like additional skill damage, where it ignores armor? I would think so...

I've gotten a few in Tombs, but I'm hanging on to one. It's just cool.

I did try it out on gargoyles outside of Ascalon and it did work pretty well on them. Of course they were level 3-4 and I was level 20, but....
