Need an advise for PC audio

Hello
I've been using teamspeak for quite awhile now.
Most of times, I use normal speaker; but when I play Guildwars, I switch to headphone. Then it became very tedious to keep switching audio cables.

My computer case has audio ports(headphone and mic) at the top; and I use audigy 2zs card.
So I decided to connect those 2 together...so that I won't have to switch plugs from behind the case (by connecting speaker cable directly to audio card, and headphone to audio port which locates on top of the case).

Inside the case, my audio port cable has small 10 pin connector(looks similar to CD audio cable).
When you look very closely, the bottom five has 4th connector blocked by a plastic. Therefore, it is really a 9 pin connector...probably 5 for headphone, and other 4 for mic(just my guess).

==layout for audio port cable==
ooooo <- Guessing this is for headphone
ooo*o <- Guessing this is for mic
(o=open, *=blocked)

My audio card has 5 slots where cables can be connected. I'll try to list them all out.
-TAD slot has 4 pins
-CD_IN slot has 4 pins
-AUX_IN slot has 4 pins
-SB1394 slot has total 9 pins(5 at top, 4 at bottom<no 5th pin>)
-CD_SPDIF slot has 2 pins.

==layout for SB1394 slot==
+++++
++++x
(+=pin, x=no pin)

Now, the problem is...my audio port cable will not fit in any audio card slots.
Any words of great advise from experienced technician would be very appreciated.
Thanks for your time

you could just buy a Y splitter for 5 bucks however it wouldn't be recommended if you're an audiophile but if you were you wouldn't be asking this question lol.

Thanks for the reply.
Yes...I thought of that option before, but I decided to leave that option till very end.
I thought this could become a good learning experience...that's all

Again, thanks for your advise

TAD - Telephone Audio Device -- used for linking a modem to the sound card (inside the case)

CD_IN - Used to connect the Analog CD Audio cable from a CD rom or DVD rom to the Sound Card

AUX_IN - Used for Misc devices such as TV/Video Capture cards...

SB1394 - This is the IEE 1394 (Firewire) connector for if you have the Audigy Live! drive bay on the front of your machine..

CD_SPDIF - Digital Audio connector, For connecting the Digital connector from a CD/DVD Rom Drive.

ALL the above are INPUT, so you wont beable to use them to connect to the thing on the top of your case...

so, you have 2 options......

1, as mentioned above, buy a Y splitter, and use that...
2, if you DO have the Live! drive bay on your PC - just use the headphones socket on there, if you DONT have one, you can purchase them seperatly (see sound blaster website for details)

I useed to use option 2 - but I accidentally popped my Live! drive bay when I was changing Cases - so now I use option 1, and it works fine...

Oh well...
Looks like I only have one option left =(
Hopefully I'll be able to find Y splitter.

Thanks all for the help =)

I found a cheap one at Best Buy. It works okay but if I'm trying to get the full benefit of my Sennheiser headphones I remove it beacause like I said it prob degrades quality some.
