Did a little GVG last night followed by some rest and relaxation in TA.

Accidently used Energy Drain on a pet.

To my pleasent surprise I got a full return of energy from the pet.
So from that point forward I started draining the pet. And it kept working, lol.

So heres my question,
Am i draining the pet or the ranger?
How much energy does a pet have?
Is a pet a constant source of energy?
Am I on to something big here?

I have no idea what a pet's max energy or energy regen is, but I can say from experience that when you res a pet, Eve will use Blood Ritual on it. So they definitely have energy. Also, in the Isle of the Nameless, the Master of Energy Denail will deny your pet rather than you, which is quite funny. It's interesting to note that minions also have energy, as my team was once forced to use ESurge to wipe out an army of fiends in HA.

The energy is completely separate from that of the player, but that's all the more info I can give you.

I've done the same with the same success on NPC's such as Footman and the Guild Lord, and if I remember it right, it works also on minions and spirits...
But I'd need to check upon that again...

remember the "good old energy drain" times? everyone was draining spirits and other "non player objects" because they needed the energy and didn't give a damn about e-denial...

And I never got less than max energy from these "objects", so they must have quite some energy pool.

So, if you need energy, drain a spirit, a pet,... it will give you full return.

Exactly. I often drain spirits or pets in GvG if I really need to make sure I get the full return, and their is one close by.

Edrain is far easier to use than it is made out to be.

So, if you need energy, drain a spirit, a pet,... it will give you full return. they probably don't have a huge beginning pool, but how often is that npc/pet/spirit using its energy. They probably all get at least 2 pips regen so you'd be hard pressed to drain it all with an e-drain every 25 seconds...
