Hey everyone, I have a question and I apologize in advance if this has been asked and answered elsewhere. I thought I knew how this worked but yesterday when I logged-in to the game, I fiddled around a lil with the character creation options and while I was doing so, noticed that the streaming update counter in the top-right (where that lil thunderbolt symbol is) kept on climbing up and up at by the time I logged in, it was at 187 MB! Now I thought that updates only happen when needed and that there's some finite number on the download, but it seemed like the update yesterday was endless. And I don't remember there being a big game update yesterday to warrant such a large size, either. So what gives? Why was it so high? Or am I missing something?
It's not a big deal, I'm curious more than anything.

It's the Gw factions code pre-loading for the upcoming weekend event. I think it's about 400 mb. I let mine sit at the login screen and update while I watched movies.

I've been wondering about the same thing for some time now, I left it at the login screen over night once, and it just kept going. I hope whatever it was at least compressed a little to save disk space.

Haha, highest dl i had was forom client, it was like 4 gigs, my friend wanted to see it, luckily he had t1 connection, didnt take too long

I was trying to say I feel for the people on dial-up or the ones that can only download like 1gb a month.
I don’t have a problem I have 10mb connection with out any downloads cap.

I'm on a T1 connection that my apartment complex gets cause it's part of the campus network, so I don't have any problems with speed.

What's bad about this is the fact that if you do not plan to buy Factions you will still have all of those files taking up space on your computer. I think in total it is over 1gig.

i went thru a few 300-400mb updates like that while paying attn to it. usuallywhen i notice its been going for a while i just log off and let it do its magic while im surfin the web or working on my website because i tend to lag when downloading that stuff
