how do i 'start' Ruins of Surmia quest

i cant figure out how you start this mission. i did the primary northern wall quest and ive read what it says in the discription but i still cant find the beginning of it. i even tried to go back in the northern wall quest area to see if it would throw me the green arrow on the map but no. can someone help me out?

run north from the frontier gate, there will be a sign saying Ruins of Surmia this way

If you have the quest, just go out the Frontier Gate and follow the left path. It's a three minute (plus battle time) walk to Surmia.
