For a W/E in GVG, how to choose between Gale/Shock and Zealous/Sundering Sword Hilt.

By the way, is 10/10 Sundering Sword Hilt really that useful? It is by far the most expensive Sword Hilt but I can't the value of it

Sundering is the most overpriced mod ever, 3:1 vamp or 10/10 furious companied with a zealous for regen is my preffered set.

Sundering is absolute trash.

I would have to agree. As a warrior, your main threat is adrenaline attacks, so furious is my mod of choice. Points in strength give you natural armor penetration anyway, and you'll most likely have enough points there. If your build is energy intensive, zealous isn't bad either.

For a gale warrior i'd say zealous and fortitude

No. It is trash, sorry to say.

Weren't there like five threads with mathematics to back it up a couple of weeks ago?

Add: I couldn't for the life of me find them, so I went to TGH instead.

Long story short is that a perfect sundering mod adds about 0.4 dmg to an average hit and increases your DPS by about 1%. http://www.guild-hall.net/forum/show...undering+sucks

I'm pretty sure that 99.99% of the time, Vampiric is better than sundering for what you're aiming to do.

For a gale warrior i'd say zealous and fortitude Sundering is trash. The 10% you get 10% of the time is negatable if you compare it to, say, even an Elemental mod.

Except if you mean you're gonna sell them to nubbies.

EDIT: Siliconwafer is right, there were more than five, actually.

For a gale warrior i'd say zealous and fortitude I apoliogse, I am clearly just 'prejudist' due to being a poor scrub who can't afford leet PvE uberloot. The extra 0.4 damage you do per swing with 10/10 sundering is clearly superior to the extra 5 you get with a Vampiric.

...Oh no, wait, you're wrong. Don't make stupid arguments without even attemtping to back them up with statistics.

Ok here is the scoop about this. In PVP sundering can very much make a difference in this way: if u have a 10/10 sundering sword or axe and 9 or 10 strength, you can get through a total of 20% of a target's armor. Thats an about 60 armor for almost every class. If any of you solowarrior, u know what 60 armor is. 60 armor is damage from 20's down to 3's. Plus, if u get that 20% on an Eviscerate, Executioners, Galrath, or Final Thrust, you're adding a shtload of damage. Every warrior knows they can lay down 80's with those skills. With an extra 20% dmg, ur talkin an average of 120's. That is the difference. Of course, some ppl like the extra energy from zealous or life stealing from vampiric, but thats what my guild uses and we win quite frequently in gvg.

I think you got it wrong.

Sundering's 10% doesn't even come into play that much. The 20% you're talking about...well, the Warrior attacks that add damage (Eviscerate, Executioner's Strike) ignore armor anyways. So, that's a moot point.

Of course, if you like that 0.4 damage you get on average per swing, that's your choice.

EDIT: Spelling error.

Vamp is 3:1, not 5:1, you're talking about hammer, in which i would not a vamp mod at all since of the aspd

The 5:1 on the hammer is there to compensate for the attack speed; no matter which weapon it is, you get more with vamp than sundering.

lzlz Sundering is not good, for the reasons explained.

And adressing the original thread. The difference between having either gale or shock, relies on the aproach/strategy you're gonna implement during a PvP match.

I'd sayfor split teams, where the gameplay turns around a guerrilla-warfare style type of thing, Gale is much better, because it's a spell-ranged.

If you're playing based on a 1v1 type of strategy, shock would do you much better because it's less energy intensive and keeps your target in meele range.

This is assuming you have 1 warrior in the team/split-team.

If you're following a more multi-warrior aproach in a 1v1 type of build, you might want to consider having 1 gale and 1 shock. The combination allows you to snare at distance (4sec kd) and then follow up with a meele ranged kd for optimal gale-lock. This combo can also be used for a meele ranged kd/snare and simultaneous ranged monk-kd in case of spike. And well, much more combinations can be used if you get imaginative enough, I guess.

Thanks so much for all you guys' replies.

Now I know I made the right decision. It's sad to see how people paying 1m to even 7m for a so-called perfect mod 10/10 +15%^50 +30 sword or axe. I couldn't stop laughing. 7m worths like US$450 on Ebay. So good luck for those buyers. They gotta get owned in PVP by "Fiery" Dragon Sword. lol

And thanks for Kate's reply for my original question. I think Gale is really expensive for a warrior, especially when you are usually a zealous sword hilt. Cuz you know how good people run in GvG and PvP. It's sometimes difficult to build up 10 mp within a short period of time.

With the new skills, the W/E with shock/Gale build may no longer exist in GvG anymore...

True, maybe even better with the nice shout "Coward!" "None shall Pass". I can't wait to use them on those running rangers and monks. Rangers always like to shoot a crippling shot and then run away. Well, get down "Coward!"
