Okay, I'm bringing my question right out... Where exactly do you find Fiery Dragon Swords? I was told outside of Beacon's Perch to the south, but if this is true, where exactly? I explored all of this and killed all the monsters except the Avicara in the cave the the far SE. Everytime I get there, party members leave, we have too high of a DP, or we cannot take out all of the Avicara and wurms. Can anyone tell me exactly where? I understand that there are reasons you don't want to disclose this information: lowering of prices, making public knowledge... There isn't a specific monster that always drops any item. You just have to get lucky. Any of the mobs in high level areas, such as the Fire Island Chain or south of Beacon's Perch, as you said, are most likely to drop it. It'll still be fairly uncommon.

I find a decent drop rate on FDSs on the hydras outside Augury Rock in Skyward Reach.
