This happened after I killed everything up till the mineral springs entrance, I stopped to take a break and noticed what was happening just in time. They kept on coming too, in streams, and it wouldn't stop until I finally just ran through them like a football player and zoned in.

Yes that happend to me/us a few times as well.
We were very suprised that the 1st avicara group just inside mineral followed us through the portal back when after a near wipe one of us tried to escape by zone-ing and that way ressing the rest. Anyways, i kinda liked the idea that u are not totally save by using a portal to zone out, but that the enemys close to the portal can follow u.

Thanks... ya, I didn't really think too much of it, like I needed to send a bug report or anything. It just kind of took me by a surprise. At first I saw a few sort of walking around, and thought, "Nah, I'll be fine" I came back to the keyboard, and was quickly trying to kill them (and take screen shots at the same time). I've seen this kind of thing before, where they're walking around past the portal, but nothing ever came through and attacked me before. lol

I've never seen this happen in Mineral Springs/Tasca's Demise, but it sounds very similar to the Gypsie Ettins running through the portal from Nebo Terrace into NKP. Wierd, yes, but not that surprising.

If your maintained enchantments and such carried over from zone to zone I wouldn't have much of a problem with this. But since they don't then I'll have to say I'm not entirely fond of this if it is indeed an update.

This also happens with the minotaurs coming from Anvil Rock into Iron Horse Mine.

Theres also etins that come in through the portal from nebo terrace to North Kryta while you do the return the hog quest... or at least there used to be.

The Ettins are really quest-related, though ... those damn birds just have a penchant for breaking the rules and ruining people's parties. Devourers used to be my #1 "Aw crap, not more of these" monster ... but I can honestly say there's nothing I hate seeing more now than a clump of Avicara, especially the wannabe dual shot-ignite ranger spikers. I mean, who gives the weapons to these birds anyway?!
I've had that happen to me in the exact same spot too, so don't feel bad ... only I went AFK to make coffee and came back to standing on the res shrine with some confused henchies
