Tengu Petition

I would like to start a "Raise the Level" campaign on Tengus. IMO, Tengu are the toughest monster given their level which I think is 13. These things are just evil in the 4 and 6 critter configuration when they have a Wild in there. Best I can tell, they are immune to practically everything and they have really good armor. The Wild opens with a bunch of shatters and debuffs so you have to start the fight naked, they hit pretty hard and their armor kicks butt. Don't mind them being hard since that is often fun, but beef up that XP reward and loot drop please.

There are harder monsters obviously, but a pack of Tengu can take me down faster than a pack of 18th+ level undead with a boss.

I would also add that, yes we know there are level 5 players out there that think the Tengu is cake... feel free to skip this post if you are in that group.

I agree
I can complete the Gates of Kryta mission solo, as well as the Riverside Province mission - But 5 tengu still put me in my place

Tengu are cool... very very tough... I agree but for a different reason. Soon I'll be level 20 and I won't give two snots about what XP they drop, however I would like to at least get 1 xp for killing anything. I hate this 0 xp thing. I don't think they need to worry about me going out and killing 10,000 devourers so that I can level up... I just want to feel like I"m gaining something, anything, when I help my mates go through missions (usually done more for good company than "help"). I get a share in the gold, true, and whatever loot drops... equals what? an average of 1 gold and a 4 gold item every kill?

I want a minimum 1 xp for killing anything.

That aside, I like the Tengu, they cool. I like the centaurs too.

Tengu are pretty hard indeed.. but i love them. I like the birdish sound they make

I usualy do empaty on the nearest melee tengu, then chaos storm the wild. when the wild died, the "empatyed" tengu is under half his health so he's down fast then i just take on the rest keeping the ranger for the end.

I think the one in the snow are the worse.

Tengu are in stingray strand, twin serpent lakes, and a few other zones around that area that most people never explore.

Tengus will be even tougher if you raise their level, the way combat in Guild Wars works.

Avicaras are insane compared to Tengu. At least when you fight the Avicaras, you can have 8 people in your group. Also, braving Avicaras will give you a chance to steal some elites from the bosses, so at least the risk is worth the reward.

But yes, Tengu are exceptionally difficult for their skill level. While travling to Ascalon Settlement, I'd by far rather start from Gates of Kryta (you can just rush through Scoundrel's Rise if you have Mending) than start from the closer Bergen Hot Springs, simply because of the Tengu.

When I first ran into these things I thought I had gone to far in the game and was to low to be fighting them, give me undead or gypsy ettins any day, these things are death on 2 legs, the melee one kills the healer henchmen in 3 hits!

It's funny seeing lvl.10-14 people in Beacons saying "LORNARS PASS RUN". I just tell them it's not worth their time because even if they get past the avicaras, they won't get past the worm.

Heh. People really really don't appreciate it when I say things like "Looking for (class), under 18 need not apply."

I guess there's too much mentality that a low level char can do anything just fine with a decent group... and in this case that's quite simply not true. Even full groups of 18-20s get owned fairly easily out there. The last thing a serious player needs is a monk half the size of the rest of his party who can't keep up with healing needs.
