I have been doing the Drok run by myself for the last week for practice before I start charging people for it. I have made it many time but I always worry about the part circled on the map pick. I usually make this and it is pretty much the only place I die. Can someone give me some tips on how to make this part easier?

Thanks in advance.

the part in the circle is worm country & ice golems/pinesouls at the top with the traps... if you make it past there it is usually free sailing afterwards...

During the run you need time, patience, and a good spawn...

And don't advertise with 100% success, if you are not willing to refund some of the money when the first try fails
It is not a scam, when a customer refuses to pay the whole price when you died and have advertised with 100% success. There is no shame in a failed run, as long as you are honest. For lots of runners 100% means that they will always arrive, but that is not what the customer thinks.
I personally have been ejected before droks, because I lost faith, and decided to pay the last 1K in terms of 500 now, and 500 on arrival. I know the chute is easy, but I was just expressing my discontent. The guy died 3 times, and advertised with 100% success.

I personally would say that you bring the skill balanced stance, and that will keep you from getting knocked over by the worms, and then bring the smiting skill{can't remember name} where it hits adjacent foes. that will keep you from getting cornered.

thats the only really tricky bit of the run as Toffin said. I personally get holy vale up asap before i get to that section. then i try to lur the wurm as early as possible., let him knock me down the first time, then as he's about to nock me down again i throw up balanced stance and charge (practice to get the timing right).

the sooner you aggro the wurm(s) to more space you have to run it off before getting to the golems on the other side of the tunnel.

as soon as balanced drops i sprint and use smite hex + drop vale to counter any slow hex's

ADVICE: go solo and just keep practicing that small section getting used to random spawns and timings since it's just outside beacons it's easy to rezone and go again.

This is where my warrior dies too try to keep mending on as long as possible and have holy veil on so if they use strip enchant youll keep mending. Use balanced stance when you enter the middle part or close to it, wait for about 5 seconds then use charge. Dont heal yourself untill the averica stop following you. When you encounter slow hexes use smite hex if you want to bring it or cast holy veil then end it. Most of the time its just luck and lots of practice that gets you past this part. So good luck

I've seen people using mending, before. I personally use this skill set:

1. Sprint
2. Charge
3. Endure Pain
4. Balanced Stance
5. Healing Signet
6. Smite Hex
7. Holy Veil
8. Remove Condition

I can usually make the run using that. I won't say 100% because sometimes I do die, but I'd say around 85% of the time I'm good. And with practice I could probably do better.

Also dont be afraid to stop with balanced stance on and just use healing signet you will heal for more then the worms can damage you but dont do it if your surrounded by avicara.

Start by waiting for the imps to run by. As you probably know Imps + Worms = Instant death. Run up to avicara with sprint and as soon as you aggro worms used b stance and then charge to get throught them. If the spawn is good then the seige golems should be just out of aggro range for you to slip on by. If not just keep running make sure to renew Bstance then charge as soon as possible. If you need a little extra boost bring Endure pain to have enough help to slip by.

Build:
Sprint
Charge
Balanced stance
Endure pain
Smite hex
Holy veil
Healing signet
mend ailement (? the one that has no attribute and heals all conditions)

I made it with: Charge, Sprint, Balanced Stance, Healing Signet, Mending (OMG! MENDING), Watch Yourself, Endure Pain, Heal Area
Heal Area was kind of to fill the 8th slot.

Max Str and Tact, rest in healing.

When you get to the wurms its very important that you have balanced stance and Charge on.

I gave up on hex removal, they tend to reapply faster than you can remove so you just burn energy. Personaly preference of course, but it works for me.
Even post-nerf, the Lieutenants Helm is a god-send.

Yeah I had that on too and my run was post-nerf. However I need to make a second, third and so on run just to make sure it was not a lucky shot.
And mending also seems useless due to the fact that it gets removed fast, but still it saved me on some occasions.

I've tried this run tons of times and eventually gave up on it...

I usually take :
Sprint
Charge
Balanced Stance
Holy Veil
Mending
Healing Signet
Healing Breeze
Purge Condtions

Gave up on this a long time ago...

I somewhat disagree with the post of most of those because I usually have wurms on me before the Avicara and I bring mending. If you don't have either of these issues, the next two paragraphics may not help (the last may still).

If you bring mending, let the wurms knock you down, and just keep moving out of the way so they don't get to attack you. Mending will approximately cancel out the damage from the knockdowns. If you've got the energy to burn, veil is fine, just make sure it is charged before you get through to the golems in the back. Usually I let them strip mending, its too short a period of time to worry about.

The point where I disagree is on the use of balanced stance. Don't waste it when you just have wurms on you but nothing else. Wait until you are just about to hit the Avicara, and as you get up from a knockdown, hit balanced stance, run through the Avicara, and use charge.

As you approach the back of the tunnel, hold down control to see where the golems/pinesouls are. If they are on the right or far back, try to squeeze through to the left and down into the valley. If they are far enough left, you can sometimes hide on the right/back before pushing through. If they're smack in the middle.... go through them, and good luck. There is a reason many people run dual, and a reason even the best can die (although those worst of spawns are rare, for me at least).

Bit off topic but can someone explain 'nerf' to me?
Me a noob ^^
On another note, how does protection fare in running? Everyone seems to be healing, but doesnt mark of protection help any? I've not tried it yet so there may be a blatant reason I dont know about?

nerf (v. tr.): to make worse or weaken, usually in the context of weakening something in order to balance out a game.

Using Mark of Protection [E] would mean dropping "Charge!" [E] - a skill that you really really really really really want to have in combination with Balanced Stance to get past the wurms.
