To summarise all new pets:
Reef Lurker - Cool crab
Tiger - ..its a tiger!
Crane - Basically a smarter Moa
(Black) Moa - Gothic Moa bird!
?Panda? - Pandas would rule :P
?Dragon? - Advanced breed of a Dune Lizard perhaps?
?Hawk? - Could be the first pet to not walk on the ground.
If you try to look at it as it were Tyria, you had to travel long distances before any new kind of pet was found. The event didnt cover that much distance and still provided a variety of pets.
Pets now seem to come in different breeds. You have your standard orangey Crab, then theres a Blue one. The moa in the "gothic" area is black. Tigers can be normal as well as white. If ANet dont have "lots" more pets than this in the actual Factions game then i'd assume there would be a larger variety of breeds to allow more customisation to your pet
I noticed someone mentioned "pokemon" here, and thought well why not have evolving? Currently your pet grows larger each level, why cant it change a bit more than that. An idea would be charming a Dune Lizard and leveling it in Cantha to turn it into a Dragon :P Then it would be further influenced by Kurzick or Luxon, e.g Kurzick making it a black dragon. All we can do is speculate

Course, it would be cool to see different skins for each evolution - I like that!

Personally, I'd love to see a charmable swarm of mosquitos or a three toed sloth. By the time your sloth was able to attck, you'd be done with the whole chapter!

think you all missing the best pet if u quested you should have done the black moa.
well i charmed the chained black moa and got reward for quest with my ritulist so my pet of choice is the moa its lvl 20
