Just for kicks, I thought I try to solo the Defend Denravi quest with my necromancer - and I did!

Once I figured out how to beat the Wild Growths and Rotting Titans easily, I just had to out-fox the boss - he needed a bit of lateral thinking but turned out to be a pussycat like the rest of them

I took some piccies of the boss fight and completion

Might be able to solo him with my ranger. Good job anyway, and a shame i already have completed it :P

Good work! I might try the same with my Mesmer.

I'm guessing focus swap to beat Wither and IP on a Titans or two to beat the degen?

The degen (burning) is triggered when he takes damage, but not damage through degen or lifesteal. He doesn't set you on fire with his attacks, you have to trigger it yourself by inflicting damage - which means it's easy to use it against him by wanding him once and transferring the burning with Plague Touch - I'd be on fire for only a split second at a time, so it was quite safe.

I didn't use Spiteful Spirit on him at all because I would have been on fire the whole time - I beat him with Insidious Parasite, Plague Touch and the occasional wand hit. The extra titans in the pics (a wind and earth titan) were there to feed me the energy I needed.

If you try with your mesmer, I'd recommend a degen instead of anything like Empathy, because it'd constantly trigger his flaming aura and you'd burn to a crisp!

BTW, what's your strategy for killing Rotting Titans?

I drop my enchants except Mending, close to melee, dump curses on them, wand, plague touch disease back, and run like hell when they die

Yup that's more or less how I do it. Full HP, cast IW and wait around 25-30 seconds so it'll be ready later, rush in and attack like crazy, recast IW after being Lingering Cursed, Mending, HB and get the hell away when it dies.

Hmm...do I smell a new rushing service? Too bad I can't do it without dying a lot.

What I find more impressive is that in one of the screenshots you are halfway through winding for using Desecrate Enchantments though it is clearly not in your skillbar in the others.

I'm befuddled.

I'm befuddled. That's my crazy UI

The boss is casting that, I have my progress bar and my target's stacked so I can see relative progress - useful to see if I'm going to make one of my casts before my target's maelstrom lands on my head etc

Am trying to do this w/ my warr/mesmer, I know some people have done it.

Problem for me is the damn wild growths, Troll urgent FTL. Maybe disrupt chop will cure it, but I haven't quite gotten the build complete yet. Also using an IW build, maybe someone can PM me a strat.

Also, damn titans are mass spawning on me, kicks my ass everytime when about 10 of em spawn at 1 time.

Any nice drops there?
I got a N/Mo 55hp too and I need to do the quest... Isn't it possible to do the quest, get the drops and then /resign

To do it over and over lol..

Just solo those Titans outside Lions Arch. I think they are the same as those in Maguuma, and you wont complete the quest by killing all of them(I tried - Solo ;D). Just dont go near the stupid Captain, because there will spawn new titans killing him.
