Still only 4 slots???

I just added a FPE key to my account, believing that I would, at least for the weekend, get 6 slots. I was wrong.

Of course, using comon sense in conjunction with aNet, for ME, has always felt like a waste of time.

What is aNet thinking??? That I delete one of my lvl 20 chars to make room for a weekend-char???
Ok, I might've created a new account with that key, but aNet tells me on their web-page, that chars from different accounts can't be merged.

They've said this on several occasions. Assuming that most people have a dedicated pvp slots. Since nothing you do this weekend will stick to your account you could just make a new account using one of your invites.

Email an invite to yourself, and then you'll be able to create a temp account to enter the FPE. Nothing but skill unlocks would have stayed on your main account anyway, so you're not losing much more than the rest of us.

He/she is loosing skill and weapon upgrade unlocks.. I'm planning to get as many of them as I can during this weekend. I dont care about PvE, since whatever I do there will be wiped out as soon as the FPE is over.

Well, I just got a reply from support, that charcters created during the weekend will still exist after the weekend, only reset.
That means, if I create a new char on a new account, it'll be stuck to that account and I can't have it transfered to my other account,once I buy factions.

Hmmm. That changes my whole plan.... I was going to try a lot of different characters, but maybe I'll just stick to one and try to unlock as much as possible (especially any Elites I can find).

Sorry about the 4 slot limit. That would have been a nice surprise for those that pre-ordered. It also raises the question of whether we will get the two extra slots in the 24 hour early access.

That's what I say.

It takes at least 30 hours to get a lv20 through the game, and another 30 or so to get all of the elite skills.

I think they should consider the pains their players go through with their characters.

I say let them play it theirselves.
I'll wait until I get the full game.

Yeah, that's why they should give you a temporary fifth slot that you can only keep if you buy factions.

You people complain about stuff way too easily... I have all four of my slots on my main account taken, but do I complain... NO. I just make a seperate account to play. It's not a problem. I did it for the PvP weekend and I had fun. Thats all that I care about this weekend is fun... I'm sure you can spend your faction on your main account for stuff to unlock this weekend if you have excess of it. Just dont complain. We dont want to hear it.

All of this was very clear on the web site, and from other posts made on this website. I am actually surprised that there are those that are upset about this.
Seems pretty logical to me. Factions has not been released yet, and when it does you will have the option of getting your additional slots, whether it be four or two.

I read on their over-hyped homepage that chars created will start at lvl 20 already, but will be reset to lvl 1 after the weekend.

So it's not the time it takes me to go from 1 to 20 that annoys me, but the fact, that I don't get additional slots with the FPE key.

Somebody at aNet must not have made his/her homework.

It doesn't say "2 more slots for FPE", but it doesn't say "no additional slots on FPE" either.

It sure would've been outstanding customer service to have 2 more slots for the weekend, but, huh? customer service? Never heard that in my life before.

What are you getting angry about? All that remains after this event are skill unlocks.

If you have 4 pve chars, you probably don't even care about unlocks, so why do you get all heartbroken over not having a reset, level 1, takes under 2 min to create basically brand new character when factions comes out? Just send an invite to yourself, sheesh.

Why do you need additional slots when you can have 4 just by sending yourself an invite? C'mon now ~_~.

No, but if you want more character slots during the FPE weekend then you can send yourself an invitation, then use that invitation to make a new account just for testing. But remember to unlock skills and item upgrades on the account that you intend to use in the future, and not on a temporary account."

Read a bit more before you complain and maybe you'll get some pitty.

They have said all along that you will not have extra slots for the FPE. Only when the game is released. Gaile has even stated that to send yourself an invite to the FPE.

Beta is Beta - I am glad they are not adding more slots until the game, too many would abuse this.

I think that everyone complains too much, this is a Beta weekend, that means that they are allowing us to play the new stuff and get ahead by unlocking and learning how to use the charachters, I think everyone should be happy that they are having a public beta. Ok sure it would have been nice to have an extra 2 slots, but it really wouldn't matter too much, as they will be gone at the ned of the weekend.

As far as having 4 slots and being expected to delete one to make a pvp slot or a new slot for the new classes, no you deffiunatly dont have to, but if you want the advantage of being able to be effective in pvp then thats a sacrifice you are going to have to make. I had almost a thousand hours logged before I started PvPing, and I had 4 charachters that had completed the storyline missions, I deleted one to make a pvp slot and it was the best decision I have evert made. I now have 1 pvp slot and 3 rpg, and I reroll that pvp toon many times a day to do that job that I want to do in each group. the only downside is that I have deleted several sigils and a lot of gold when I forget that I had it before rerolling, but thats just attention to detail!

I'm stoked abotu the weekend and I cant wait to get off work and try out the new build options!!!!

How much are you paying for this "poor service"? You bought the initial software for the game and you havent payed anything since.

This is not the first MMo that I have played, but it is the first free one, and if anyting the customer service at Anet is better then the pay games. I don't think that people understand what they are complaining about half the time when they complain. You really cant expect to have everyting handed to you on a silver platter because its what you feel you deserve. you need to look at the overall game dynamics and the big picture before you go off about menial details, like will we get an extra 2 slots for this 4 day event, because we all know that would have such a HUGE impact on everything..../sarcasm off

Actually, thinking about this, what does it matter if you have the same character? I'm sure all your skills will be reset, and if even by some chance they're not, you'll probably want to redo the quests anyway for XP.

So, really, why do you want to save this preview character?

I will be paying almost 140,-EUR since I intent to buy 2 collectors editions, one for each of my accounts.

That's quite some money, don't you think?

Because I love the characters I create, Gale Grey knows that, , and I hate seeing them being deleted.
So why should I delete a preview character?
