Just to get it in print:

I just noticed something while playing my FPE Assassin. I'd accidentally missed my BMT, but hadn't quite noticed in time and was cursing the wasted recharge on Jungle Strike, when...

It went off and failed instead of missed.

In other words, if you end up launching off-hand and dual attacks after a missed lead, they don't recharge, they stay ready for use. You pay the energy cost of being an idiot (>_<), but this makes Dagger Mastery much more viable.

Pardon me if this was already common knowledge before, but I'd never heard of anyone doing this. That and the fact that just that sort of thing is one of the major complaints against Dagger Mastery and Assassin primaries made me want to ensure it got out.

I think you are right. During the global PvP weekend, this was not the case - an erroneous combo used to cost you both energy and recharge. Not any longer, as you said, you just pay the energy cost for being a fool.

Yeah. Heh...that and the massive damage boosts across the board and the new (I think) aspect of dual attacks actually striking twice, and Dagger Mastery has gone from a sub-par skill line with a few interesting toys to a shrapnel bomb waiting to explode.

Assassin primaries are awesome XD. Hell, with 16 Dagger and 13 Critical alone you could hit like the Wrath of God while still using teleports just fine. Get two of those suckers on you and you're going to meet the ground, hard.
