Hi,

Yesterday i found a nice golden Battlepick Of Fortitude in a chest in the Tombs,the pick had an axegrip of fortitude of +30hp.When i ID it the message: New item unlocked axegrip of fortitude, was shown.

I tried to salvage the grip with an expert salvage kit when back at the tombs outpost but all i got were 3 steel ingots.

As this is not the first time this has happened ,i was wondering am i the only one and am i doing something wrong?

All comments and help on the subject is welcome.

just very bad luck!
ther has been a bug that messed up every salvage though ( ages ago ) which caused me the same problem...twice
and a buddy of mine salvaged 4 bolts of cloths from his superior vigor... 8-)
but its probably bad luck

Nope you're not alone, I've certainly had my share of bad salvages. Perfect fortitude mods, sundering, furious, enchanting, you name it - I've turned them all into iron ingots.

cuz all of my Gw cash is gone from this guy that said ,give your money b4 you i.d anything and every rune you weill i.d will be sup abs.
turnout it didnt.

beside the jokes/ dont remember where but you can prolly find the odds of salvage. its not 100%, same as i.d gold rune and getting major.
same as slavging your armor for that nice sup abs or vigor and getting 3 cloth and 2 iron.its all in the numbers.

I know a guy who sold a stack of ecto to the general merchant.

And If anything has a hale head on it, I never bother salvage.. I always get the crappy head.

At 10:00 in the morning i went on a FoW Chest run. Got a Firestaff with +30hp Stave. Salvage. Woopy 20 wood. 8:00 at night same day. Get a bonestaff from chest at Witman's Folly. Get a +30hp Staff Head. Salvage 19 wood. So yeah... both of the different +30 hp staff mods in one day, and I didn't get either one =\

This happens to me all the time and it sux. In the last few weeks ive turned a 10:10 sundering Bow mod a +30 hp Axe haft and a +20% enchanting pommel into wood and iron respectively.
Also in the past I have salvaged the other crappy mod from an item with a perfect mod.

I would like to see a change in the way that the salvage kits work.
I propose that you can click on the kit and then on to the weapon where it then prompts you to select what you are trying to achieve.
Prefix mod/Suffix mod or Materials. This will then give you a slightly higher chance of salvaging the thing that you want. This function will also be useful if for instance you want to salvage a blue item with a single mod into crafting materials instead of nearly always getting the crap mod.

I lost 3 Superior Vigors the day before ANet added the patch to make it where you always salvage runes out of monster armor drops.
