Yesterday.. i tried to login but they were saying my email doesnt exist anymore... i said.. wtf..

i came on gw with another account, and my name was online... i said again.. WTF...

after 24 hours, i received this :

Those who doent understand french.. its like this:

I know you must be angry at me for stealing your account, it was a nice account with 500k ^^. To lower this frustration, i will give you my account.. he gave me an account (which is working.. level 20 ranger with 7k) and a counter strike account :|.

so.. he hacked me.. sent me an email.. but what can i do... i dont have my cd-key since 6 months cause i dont need the cd to play...

Another reason to hate the french (jk). Tell A-Net. They can track whose account that was because he was stupid enough to give you the passwords and usernames (and e-mail, for the gw account) and they can log his location possibly through the service provider and/or kill off his access and return it to you, if he hasn't totally trashed it yet.

with all the info he provided, I'd have to agree with the above post...report this and hopefully the outcome will be a justified one....hopefully...

Sounds like the accounts he traded you against your wishes are also hacked.Hit the jackpot with your's so dumped the crapy one off on ya.Man this would drive me insane.

Actually totally true but...from the language use i could tell its a french from Europe, and i could tell he is a male, is between 15-20 years old... he could also he is surely 14-20 years old but he could have made many mistakes to take him younger and stupider than he is actually... bah thats my info i see in this message...ah yeah he is younger than 18 that probable

a friend of mine got his acc stolen as well.. report this to Anet ..
he got his acc back in 2 days, chars were deleted though, but u ll keep the unlocked stuff (great yeah )

but it looks like u can only ask for a recovery once per acc ...

I think by logging in on his account, you've made yourself vulnerable of the next attack. Do not use that account. He can take it back any time he wishes. If you already used it, as you stated, clear it of all items and money (Give that to a friend), delete the characters, and forget it.

yeah never use a free acc .. this acc can be used to abuse ppl believing they ll use it and then u can take back the whole stuff

if the acc was used for some cheating like bots etc.. it can also be deleted while u r using it

Get his ip. and u will get him from there... report him he is stupid for sending u an email gmail logs there ip for me.

And yeah that's sad, but reort it and Anet will give it back to you and you have a better chance to recovert everything (as he intend to play with it not to only steal everything)

Yes you need to report to ANet about that. They are the only ones that can get your account back without you hacking him. They should be able to help you no problem. That is pretty crappy though. I would hunt that guy down and probably hurt him pretty severly...

That is a little over the edge, though. I am sure the starter of this thread must have made him/herself vulnerable for this somehow.
Password must always be a set of random numbers and characters. Never use that very same password anywhere else (Not even in this forum, though vBulletin is very safe with passwords), and never let someone look over your shoulder while you type it, or even let them play on your computer account.

Agreed. Never use your valuable passwords anywhere else, ESPECIALLY a GW password at any site that u put ur GW IGN

I almost forgot. Don't use secondary programs to help you play GW and other games. Secondary programs are botting scripts, and calculating scripts. Many of them have trojans or keyloggers attached. There is maybe more of this, but I'm kind of a noob in this.
