How do you own a town? I really want to know how guilds can actually own towns like Brauer Academy. Tell me!

I don't have the answer, but "please" goes a long way. I'll post if I find out though.

From what I understand, and I could be wrong. Your guild would not control a town, but your Alliance ( Multiple Guilds ) could control a specific town/outpost. I believe this is accomplished via Alliance Battles.

Anet Update:
Quote:
An alliance is a collection of guilds, led by the guild leader that created the alliance. Each guild that isn't in a larger alliance is considered an alliance of one. (During this Factions Preview Event, forming alliances is not supported, so each guild is its own alliance.)

So that can't be possible, since some guilds are already owning towns.

You earn Faction points with the Luxon or the Kurzick. You can donate 5000 points to your guild and it gets 10 alliance points in return. This can be done with the Kurzick or Luxon scribes and they can be found in the guild halls and in the main outpost of the Kurzick/Luxon side.

I'm not sure how you can control a town. My guild held Zos for a while until some other guild had more alliance points. We now hold Breaker Point (or something like that, I can't remember). You can seen the guild emblem on the map icon of the town which they hold. I've yet to see what advantage this gives us.

To answer that, only single-guild alliances exist for the FPE. Therefore there are as many alliances as there are guilds right now.
