Rare materials?

Ok, i know the basic stuff like fur square, steel ingot, etc. But what about vial of ink? obsidian shard? ectoplasm? ruby? what are all of these for?

Ecto's and Shards are for Fissure of Woe armor.

WHERE DO I GET THAT ARMOR? Is it for only one kind of proffesion?

for all professions, you can get in in the Fissure of Woe, after completing a certain quest (I forgot it's name)

Due to the price of ectos though, it's a mark of soemone who's sad and bought the materials on ebay, someone who's sad because they have WAY too much spare time on their hands, or someone who should really go get a job at the stock market because they're good at trading.

Do I detect "armor envy?"

I believe the quest is called "The Forgemaster"

This armor is simply a status symbol, like black dye, and like 15k armor.

u gotta do the forgemaster then the quest that he gives u to be able to buy FoW armor, think it was called restoring the temple not sure tho

I am going to say that you should be careful on just saying that everyone who has FoW armor "ebayed" the materiels. That is a bold and extremely untrue statement chief. I have a few sets of FoW armor purchased through lots of running and selling and I'm sure that 90% of the people that got their forgemaster armor did it the same way as I did. The ecto is dropping in price because of the Factions release coming soon and people are hoarding rubies and sapphires now...ecto has lost a little bit of consumers interest. And as far as time is concerned..who are you to judge people on how much time they play??

He's obviously trolling, on top of having armor envy. Through a lot of farming, selling, and trading, I am working my way up to 120 ectos and 120 shards (actually I could just go buy the balance with plats but I like trading what I find for them). I'd like to be one of the earlier Factions fissure armor (or whatever it will be called....Gaile said there would be an equivalence, I hope they use ectos/shards for them) owners.

Anyways, wow this guy sure made a fool of himself publicly.

Where is the forgemaster quest?

The forgemaster quest would be in the....Fissure of Woe. You get into the Fissure of Woe by

1) having ascended your character in the desert
2) your region has the favor of the god, kneel at the statue of bath, and pay him 1k to get into FoW.

actually not 1 but few quests - forge quest then some stupid 'protect crafter' quest then Restore the temple of war quest aka clear the spidercave.
all prof can craft fow armor - gaile said that it'll be fow armor for assassin and ritualist after faction release - there are fow versions of all 15k armor sets but they al look the same - u'll need ecto and shards and some regular and elite materials, u can google list of materials for fow armors or check guildwiki i believe they got all info posted

some elite crafting materials are for 15k armors (grotto/citadel crafters) and some are for GW factions

u cant bring henchy with u so pls find a party for doing forge quests. also u can ask ur party if they're doing 'book trick' -in that case u have to bring stances build if u're the tank, cos u'll be holding the book (aggro object just like the keg in SF) doing nothing but absorbing all damage... u can get the book in Army of darkness quest.
edit: oh u're ranger... u can find barrage/smiting group in toa 1 its quite easy to do forgemaster quests with such group.

Don't think anybody mentioned u get to FoW from The Temple of Ages.
