character customization

im thinking of buying the game but i was wondering how much initial character customization there is

visual some

professions and skills tremendous variety

you get a different look for each profession.

within each profession you can choose male or female

for each sex you can choose several different faces, hair styles, skin colors, and body sizes.

You can then customize your character further based on your armor.


There's also a ton of customization in how you apply your attributes, skill selection, rune additions, etc...

If you're a customization freak like me you'd eventually be a bit dissappointed. Although its nothing like diablo 2 where you are stuck with a look for a certain class. Its a bit similar, each class if you choose as primary will have a certain body build. After you choose that you customize face, hair style, hair color, skin color, and how tall or short you are. Because there is a certain body build for a class. I'm turned off from ever really choosing a monk primary (imo it looks like a boderline fat hunchback.) Don't worry though there is enough options to be different from another person of the same class.

Although I kinda wish I didn't have to be a "muscled" guy if I chose Warrior, but a normal kind of body build. I'd be delighted to choose warrior.

More than with WoW?

Hmmm.... I think it is better than WoW. In WoW you're are stuck at a certain length so you couldn't be a short night elf. Yeah I defenitely think it is better than WoW since characters don't look blocky and cartoonish.

Also I think eventually it'll have a lot of customization with the new expansions coming along that may or may not add new races to play. Thus adding more customizations for that particular race and its classes under them.
