Has anyone noticed that the weapon crafter has no weapons to craft. This is where it might appear, but I doubt it since he said he is selling rather than crafting.

Ok so make a beliver out of me. Where was this Tahwam Zing and where did the sword drop or was it crafted.
Also I cannot understand why they would remove something from the game and just let a select few have it. If they are going to remove something they should do it across the board like the helmet they nerfed. Any item should be available to anyone who plays the game if they can find it or figure out where to craft it. Any one who would pay 300k+ is out of their minds and any one taking advantage of the nerf is just plain greedy. It's a game. It's not real money and won't pay your rent. And if the reason they nerf something is because it isn't available to PvP player, well, have them get off their butts and go out and find the crafter. They got 4 slots too. Or God forbit, we don't want to make them do that just give it to them like everything else.

I'm optimistic about this. There are 2 ways to fix an "unbalanced" weapon. One is to take it away, so no one can have it. Anet seems to do the other option, though, which is to make it so common that eveyrone can have one. I cite green weapons as precidence. So, I'm hoping that they're choosing this latter strategy here, too. Sure, it's likely BS, and I want a screenie, but I'm not gonna put it past the dev's to make it a normal drop, either.

I just got done with attempting to build a PVP assassin, and I found no +5 energy daggers in the standard character equipment screen. So, still no screenie to substantiate the +5e daggers.

Still no screenie to substantiate this sword. Who cares about +5 daggers? It can't hold an offhand so you might as well get a stave or something. Of course it would be useful to Assasins, but not casters and stuff...

weirdest item i got was paper fan - with no req and unconditional +5 enrgy. i've heard about +enrgy sword upgrade part tho not sure i remember any numbers. no swords of any kind with enrgy suff dropped for me or any of my guildies so far, but i see no reasons why such sword cant exist...

This is not a big deal. I don't see prices dropping just because of this thread, so there is no point getting upset about it. If what he says is false, it will pass over. If its true then people deserve to know about it. Save your judgements, but more importantly calm yourself over something that isn't gonna affect how you play for now.
As it was pointed out earlier, if it was an imbalance issue they should (would) have removed the item from the game. Something else was at play for the removal of the crafter. Now a +5 energy sword is a big advantage in PvP, so in the intrest of balance, it would only be fair to make it widely available, instead of to the elite few....which I'm assuming your one of.

Okay, normally I'd say Anet will sort this no bother. However with the current armour 'balance' between Chapter 1 and chapter 2, my faith has been somewhat tested in the creation of 'balance' between the 2 chapters.

The sword isnt really imbalanced any more, so adding a randomly dropped one would be a good idea, as people are selling them for way too much. I heard months ago that they were going to do this, so I hope they have.

i dont have 5 more energy when im 55monk'in but it being a solo build, i got the aggro to give me energy. whats the point in paying that much for something that wont really matter anyways? if im low on energy and need to cast, i just switch weapon sets for the quick energy

you can put a 20% enchant pommel on any sword, a sword that looks good, and you wouldnt have to pay out the yin yang for it. When you look at the big picture, you are paying ridiculous money for something ugly that gives you +5 energy. And on a 55 monk (considering that you have either balt spirit or es bond) you have mass energy rolling in, plenty of energy to spam prot spirit and breeze as much as you want. +5 energy makes a very very very very very small difference if any at all, and you guys are paying/pushing this thing like its a perfect crystaline. There is nothing uber about +5 energy. Stop fooling yourself and congrats on wasting money.

1) you can't craft anymore, limited amount left.
2) is the only sword in the game with +5 energy at this point
3) gives 5 free energy constantly in sword form, no matter what build you use.
4) is popular amongst certain type of players
5) has been the topic of lots of discussions
You can compare it with the 'moxes' in magic the gathering. Taken out because they were too good. Same thing, free energy is important for a caster even if it's only one mana. Prices raised because of the rarity and playability. Sure you can play without them, just like with the HOD sword, but it's nice to play with them too.
If you don't like the HOD sword and prices people ask for them, that's fine by me, nobody is forcing you to buy one anyway.

And I can see the benefit it might provide for a warrior due to most skills costing 5 energy, but monks with gold burning holes in their storage blowing money like that on +5 energy. the skills you take in UW that you actually use are all 10+ energy...

This isn't a debate on how good the HoD sword is. It's about this +5e sword that could be found in Factions. Let's not go off topic as there are other topics on the HoD sword for that.

While obviously nothing is definite and so far all we have are rumors, I do think it is likely that we will see the return of the +5 energy sword. First off there is new either crafter or collector (NPC) who claims that he sold weapons at the Henge of Denravi (since he is not actaully selling or crafting weapons yet we don't really know what he is doing or what A-net plans for him to do but - the hint is definitely there). Considering the back lash A-net had at this sword's removal, and as a company that does seem to listen and respond to customer feedback (even when they should not - this snide comment is not made in regrads to the HOD sword) I think it is very likely that this sword will be reintroduced.
Anyway, time will see. For myself, if the sword is reintroduced I'll probably get one but honestly I don't really see myself using it. Oh yea and - long live the fiery flame spitter.

Your right, 400+K is steep for a simple +5 energy mod, its the fact that it is so useful to
55HP Monks ( a 55hp with no energy is a 0HP monk, five energy is a 10% bigger barrier between being alive, and being dead)
PVP Monks- +5 energy doesnt sound like much if you dont use it properly, the idea of the HOD sword here is to use a +15 -1 Regen offhand,
There is nothing more disruptive to a monk than an E-denial mesmer, having +5 energy in your offhand is HUGE if thats all you have to work with
just because you dont know what its good for, doesnt mean its a waste

Sounds like pure BS, if they drop someone else would find it too and possibly with lower +ene mod. But no such thing has been seen and its very very unprobable.

The HoD sword is not all you crack it up to be, the FFS owns the HoD sword.
