How large is your Screens folder?
Rayne Nightfyre
I don't believe I've ever seen a thread dealing with showing off our obsessive screenshot taking, so I'm curious.
Mine at the minute is 236 MB, with 240 total files, 6 sub-folders and 11 sub-sub-folders. It used to be much bigger, but I recently took the time to clean it out.
And I know there has to be many more with Screens folders larger than this.

My 'Screens' folder has about 600 files in it. 547 screenshots, and various copies that have been resized/cropped/edited. (I need to clean it out)
My first ever Guild Wars screenshot was taken on the 15th May, it is merely a picture of me in my Ascalon armour standing in Ascalon city

Just over 350 Mb ...and that's with the folder well "pruned" of unwanted screenshots. I'd imagine it would be over a gigabyte otherwise. :S

Roughly... 1000+ files @ 2gb.

SS folder only holds 999 screens before it says its "full". So all you do is rename it to Guild Wars Screens1, and make a new main folder for it to save in.
Most ive had is about....1500 on 2 PC's.

I am constantly cleaning it out. Most of the time, I am to excited to get into Photoshop and play with the images. They typicaly end up in a "Guild Wars Images" folder after capture.

Mine is 1.33 GB after cleaning it a bit. But is there a way that GW saves the files to .jpg instead of .bmp?

1.8 Gb...

hijacked it from another thread in Q&A, wich asked how large your folder was...
so yeah..5 GB of screens is alot!
the reason why i take so many screens is because my screen freezes when I either open my inventory, or get the names of the teams in HA, or gvg...
The screen goes all buggy, and I have to press PrintScreen to make it work again.
but thank god! they fixed it during faction event (I think )

I think I have over 3000 pics.
With me leaving them bitmap I think the folder would go over 8 gig in size.
What I do is convert them to jpegs, that makes 999 ss go from 3gig to ~ 200 megs or so.
Use google and find a program that converts bitmaps to jpegs

770 Mb

Approximately 2600 screens across 3 folders, all batch converted to jpeg to save space. I am not mad.

168 from the BWE's @ 210mb (I made those smaller)
192 for everything up to the Wintersday Update @ 1.00 GB (Not smaller yet)
227 for everything since Wintersday @ 1.19 GB (Not smaller either)
On another note... I'll post the size of my video folder that I've recorded.
1.04gb of footage using GameCam Lite.. and those files are TINY. 4mb is about 3 minutes, so its not that bad.
Off Topic: Do those jpeg converters you guys are using come out high quality? I usually go into photoshop to do it... one by one... but it makes for some high quality jpegs at about 1/3rd the size of the original image.
If they do, I might have to go use one.

38.7MB. I regularly clean mine out. I only keep really special screenshots in the folder, for really I prefer PrtScrning it, and pasting it into an image program, and save it elsewhere, instead of GW also making a .bmp image.

all compressed to 90% quality.jpg ress between 1280x1024 and 1920x1200 (for batch compression used BIMPLite)

Why JPEG...
PNG is lossless and just generally much more l33t. JPEG is only useful for internet use, where some nub IE users can't render the .PNG.

I've got 500 or so screens, mostly auction items. Folder awesome trades and silly dances though too =)
5Gb... that's obscene. How does your hard drive sleep at night?

774 files, over 2 gigs. Most of them funny/interesting in some way, except for the Halloween/Wintersday when I just screened utterly everything I coulf find like an excited caffeine rushed leming with new digital camera.
