Ive played my Warrior/Mesmer to 20, have ascended and now got the chance to change my secondary class. Basically, I dont care much for PvE, my character should be a great PvP character in 4on4s and HoH. Yes, you can play any combo but not everything is 100% viable. Or why do the top guilds only have Warrior/Monks and the ocasional Warrior/Necro in their line ups?

I built my Warrior/Mesmer to have a warrior that has protection from magic. Thats how I understood the class when i bought the game. However, I see they are more the disabling type. So why should I use Mesmer 2nd if a real Mesmer can do a much better job than I can due to Fast Cast and more Energy. The 2nd class is supposed to support and synergize with the 1st class, making it more effective. Im dont want to be Warrior who can cast a few Mesmer spells, I want a warrior whos warrior abilities are pushed by the second class.

For example Warrior/Monk does this wonderfully as it significantly increases the tanking ability of the warrior. Warrior/Ele raises weapon damage. But Mesmer just doesnt cut it. I have very mixed feelings about this class in combination with warrior that I cant express. Probably due to the sheer amount of possibilities.

Well, what other combo is viable in PvP? Preferably something that just assists me being a warrior and not some random stuff.

I made a War/Mez not really to have my warrior abilities enhanced by the mez class, but for PVP I want to be a real terror when I set my sights on someone.

This is mainly for 4 vs 4, but I am thinking:
1 Disruption Tank - me - Disables target as much as possible, at the outset this would be a monk.
1 Primary Monk - heals team and uses secondary class to try to cover some of his weaknesses
1 Primary damage do'er - Their job is to pick a weak target not my target and destroy it ASAP - not the main monk I am on because the monk needs to have to worry about healing multiple people to wear him down faster - sometimes at all.
1 Secondary damage/Secondary Healing - Assists Primary Damager with damage and assists primary healer by making sure he gets healed himself, shouldnt have to heal anyone other than the primary healer.

Sounds like a good strategy to me, and War/Mez sounds like it will be good for the role it is designed for.
