Hi,I just started Guild Wars last night and have a few Qs:
1. If I reach lvl2 but I'm unsure what I want to spend my points on so I dont do anything and I reach lvl3, will I lose out of the points that I had just gotten at lvl2?
2. After spending points, is it permanent or can I go back and reassign them? I think I can, but Im not exactly sure, which lead to 1.
3. Should I do each and every quest in Pre-Searing? I was not going to, but then I saw the reward for one of them was a skill point, and I think those are vital.
4. Skill points allow me to hold more skills?
5. What's the earliest point I can start doing quests with teammates?
Thanks a bunch!

I'm pretty new too as well but...
No you don't lose the points you accrue. umm my first char I didn't even know about attribute points so I didn't even use them until I was about level 9 *hangs head in shame*
You can go back and reassign them. You get attribute refund points so you can take points out and put them into other things.
Skill points is the part I'm not too sure about...I think this is what allows you to buy skills from the trainer, each costs a skill point.
You can do quests with friends right off the bat, but you are limited to party members, in presearing it is 2, then after the searing you can have 4 teammates, later on this increases to 6 and 8 (I'm not far enough along to know when these points are yet)

its best not to spend your skill points frivolously. just keep doing quests and you'll get many many skills
as for party size. its max 2 in pre-searing ascalon, 4 from the beginning of searing ascalon (after the academy) 6 once you get to yak's bend (i believe its right after nolani academy, 3 new henchmen show up there as well
) and i found 8 at temple of the ages (no new henchmen

1-Answered by Keira--you cannot lose attribute points once you've got them, regardless of whether or not you use them
2-Again, points are not permanent, you can change them depending on how many attribute refund points you have. There is a max of 24, and it will show you on your Hero window how many you currently have(default hotkey 'H'). You earn refund points by getting exp, so even if you spend them, you can get more back.
3-This is purely a matter of personal preference. A good rule of thumb would be to do at least all the quests to obtain you professions' skills. And remember that once you leave Pre-Searing with a character you cannot return. Don't worry too much aboutmissing skill quests though, you can always buy the skills you missed from a skill trainer later. For a great guide on Pre-Searing, see OrangeArrow's guide here at the Guru.
4-Skill points are only used, at this point in the game, to BUY skills. Many skills are available by questing and you get them as rewards, thus you do not use a skill point for those obtained this way. But there are some skills that are not available by questing, but you can buy them from skill trainers at certain cities for gold and one skill point. You can see how many skill points you currently have in your Hero window as well.
