That was fast! =D Thank you!

I think it's a shorter distance from Beacon's Perch south to Lornar's Pass, then Dreadnought's Drift. I would go with some guild members though, as Beacon's Perch isn't a real high-level area to begin with.
bioxeed
beacons perch may not be high level but lornars pass is. Oh and it probably is quicker heading that way but you definately want all l20's along. A guildy an I went from rankor through Snake Dance and it took a while to get there killing all that things along the way. There's a good reason that place is called snake dance as we found out It's fairly easy just a very very long way.

Personal account:
I tried going south from Beacon's Perch four times with five random level 20 teammates and failed. We once got to Snake Dance, all of my mates were killed except me, and I mange to Metal Gear creep my way around the mobs until I hit Dreadnoughts Drift, weak and near death from the rock throwing contest at the end.
My group cheered and celebrated so much once we all respawned, that we didn't notice the mobs coming at us from the get-go. We were creamed and soon had a DP too high to get to the elite's boss in the SE corner without dying. Three and a half hours of effort wasted, we quit one by one.
Since it was my LAST elite I needed to complete my skills for both of my classes, I couldn't give up. So I went to Rankor, grabbed seven henchies and headed north VERY carefully. It was the day after they patched the flying henchie bug, so I wanted to give it a chance. I've never been more proud of the henchies before that day. They helped me make it through by providing excellent support, and now I have all 147 skills and elites.
Turns out that this elite is now the center of my new Wastrel's Worry build. It's definitely recommended for use once you get it.

Blight And Ruin
Fun elite, I've had it equipped frequently.
I use Shadow of Fear a lot anyway, and following up SoF with FoC is a nice little necro nuke, plus a substantial heal. Normally it's about 110 points in AE dmg, with 120+ points of healing for me, for 10 Energy. I like.
As for how to cap it, I ran from Rankor IIRC. Maw the Mountain Heart is easy to find.

I think getting this skill was a waste of time, I did go north from with henches and it took a long time. I think its pretty useless elite compared to all the other things you can use. Sure it does about 110 damage on hexed foes but then you have to wait 20 sec to cast again. You don't steal much health either. If you want damage like that use putrid or death nova on minions, and save the elite spot for something else. This skill would be awesome if you stole about 34 health for EACH hex on the foe.
MasterWS
I just got Feast after a hour of walking and fightning it was hard as hell and trust me i could easily say this the hardest skill to cap on GW good lucky all on getting it
bioxeed
Sniper22 - It does that damage and stealing on the targetted foe and all surrounding foes. It'd be stupidly overpowered if it stole 34 per hex. Imo it's a quite a good AoE attack/steal. Great for PvE (dunno about PvP as I haven't tried it)

Some people don't just play PvE with their elites. If 20 seconds is too long for use (most pain dealing skills take as long or longer to recharge), then you can't recommend those Death spells since you have to wait until something dies, which takes longer than 20 seconds in PvP. Sure, in certain setups (mininion madness) and/or maps (holding down the altar) it works, but Death bombs aren't general use skills that can be used as well as FoC.
Also, at 16 Curses you get 127 damage, and with 'Awaken the Blood' you can get two blasts of around 140 damage before the enchant leaves you (stealing about 100 energy total). So you cast the elite, work in your other skills and attacks for 20 seconds then cast it again.... or match up with a Mesmer's Archane Echo to make copies of it for real pain deliverance.
Necro doesn't have anything else quite like it to deliver a power blast attack without someone standing near a corpse, particularly since in PvP he's more DoT focused. Try it out more and you may grow to like it in an aggressive build.

Dreadnought's Drift is the oddest place I've seen. Monsters there do not so much have patrol routes as are scripted. Coming from Snake Dance, there's a group of giants on the path. I attacked them and another large group of them comes running down on the path ahead. I run back and restart the map and try again. This time I wait for the first group to go left to a small nodge with some griffons. I have to fight through the second group, though. From the intersection with a large stone summit party, I headed right, avoiding detection. There were some smaller stationary parties ahead. Killing one of them caused a group of azure shadows to mysteriously pop up. To south, there were 3 groups of giants. Killing one of the groups caused the other two to attack me (and they only attacked me AFTER I killed the first one.)
Maw the Mountain Heart who has the skill is east from the broken statue of Dwayna. Walk around and he'll literally pop up somewhere. He's annoying to kill even though he's alone. He'll use Suffering followed by Feast of Corruption and occasionally burrows back underground for another attack.
PS: I did this with NPCs. Snake Dance is relatively easy, but the hardest part is near the end. There are two groups of mountain trolls with like 15 each. You will want to try and take them out in small quantities as they are patrolling. Really made me wish I had someone with meteor storm with me.

Heheh...any N/Me's out there? Just use one of the skills of the mesmer like arcane echo or whatever it is that copies the last skill used. Shadow of Fear, cast the echo...then cast FoC twice in a row.

With that skill, ya it would be good, but it seems kinda random placing this nuke in the middle or necro curses.
I rely on the eles to do their damage, and I cast lingering curse. With about 3 attempts to heal, the should have gotten about 300ish health but only got 150. In a way thats like a 150 attack for only 3 heals.
For FoC its hard to find the perfect spot when everyone is clumped together to get that good damage. If you want something like that do mark of pain and have 2 warriors attacking. With 34 damage each attack, it takes 4 hits to get 136 damage, 2 hits each, and that won't take long at all. If you have minions and hex the one they are attacking, thats gonna be a lot of damage to the people around it. I really didn't find any use for FoC, Tainted Flesh could be even better cause it gets the whole team.

I used FoC a lot in Fissure as an N/Me
Typically I'd build about like this:
Awaken the Blood
Strip Enchantment
Arcane Echo
Shatter Hex
Shadow of Fear
Feast of Corruption {E}
With Curses 14 + 2 AtB, Blood 13 + 2 AtB, and Dom 10.
If I started with Arcane, I could usually get off about 330 + in AE damage very quickly while halving melee attack speed on the FoW mobs.
Worked nicely.

Can we conferm the location in Talus Chute? I found one necro boss there, but he didnt have the skill.
super dooper
not in Talus Chute.. Dreadnaught's Drift, and only Dreadnaught's Drift.

I agree it was not easy to cap... I went with a mix of guildies and henchies from rankor, entered Dreadnaught at +10%, and after a while we were all at -60%. However, sending people to die, using their corpses to make lvl 18 fiends, rebirthing them back to safety, and sending them to die again soon gave us an overwhelming army . I also, only once, saw that wurm right outside Deldrimor War Camp. It appeared on the little downhill slope that you take to head into SF. We were all surprised, and of course, no one had a cap signet
Findariel
With the introduction of Deldrimor War Camp, it's a bit easier to get to Dreadnoughts now.
I went with hench, if you know where to find Maw it's not hard to get FoC.
It only takes quite some time before you're there.

With the introduction of stuff, and some luck, you don't even have to go to Dreadnought... Maw the Mountain Heart is a random, annoying and terrifying boss spawn in Grenth's Footprint... as I found out running to attack Flint... :P
btw, Maw the Mountain Heart is just plain cool, and Feast of Corruption has got to be the coolest-named skill in the game ;D

took me 15 minutes to get
hire a runner to dreadnought

Grab 6 other henchies, and get a runner to take u to dreadnought drift.
Maw the Mountain Heart is easy to beat. He is near the statue of Dwayna.

Took me about 45min from leaving War camp to the kill of Maw, alone with henchies. Just fill up the group with henchies from the Deldrimor War camp and fight your way to Dreadnoughts, it's a fun challenge and test of skills.
Since I was the puller and main dmg dealer I did die several times before getting to Maw, but the hardest part is getting to him.
The henchies from the War camp are strong enough to do lots of dmg and remain alive, it only gets tricky when coming accross a Troll or Griffon patrol with 8+mobs, specially while already in battle. Bring along SpitefulSpirit and echo and it's a lot of fun to see them drop. Can also bring along some taps and ShadowofFear, for the big groups of giants that interupt all time. With failed echo and SS, better to slow them down before they take everyone down.
Once you get to Dreadnought from SnakeDance, let the first group of giants pass by and go with the griffons on the left, leaving the path open for you. You might be able to sneak past the very large group of Dolyaks, sentinels and other dwarves, if not just agro the group, back up quickly so that only some of them will follow, pick those out then go back for the rest.
By the time I got to Maw I was at 40% DP, but whenever I died the group of henchies was strong enough to finish the battle and bring me back.
If you come in Dreadnought from the North, there are a couple of large patrols to go through, very challenging but fun. I killed them all for pleasure but before long everyone was at 60% DP, several healers and minion masters in those groups.

Just had this sucker pop up out in Grenths Footprint, just south of the portal to Spearhead Peak. Will go and see if he comes again and take a screenshot of the location.

Now to talk about how good a skill it is...
Feast is better in PvE.
Since the enemies still bunch up on the tank - You can cast Suffering(Enfeebling Blood/etc) then This, and boom...everyone of them is hit for over 100 dmg.
Feast in PvP (where you are lucky if you hit 2 guys with it) is alittle different.
Most dont use it in bigger PvP, but in the random arena its still ok - since noone brings hex removal, and the Dmg over time isnt as good in those situations.

crap...i spent like an hour gettin there from rankor only to be obliterated by the big mob in the crossroadish area of dreds....im talking absolutely destroyed me and my henchies....but then they did have 3 healers :/

This is my alltime favorite necro spike skill.

Maw is easily enough beaten. Get a mate on his warrior to run up to Dreadnoughts Drift to kill Maw and clear the way for you on your necro to just run up and use your siggy, piece of cake!

Update: In the last season's Metagame this was a popular spike in HA, simply because of the state of the game at the time.
It got the nerf recharge wise yesterday.

Wow...just wow. Could this possibly be the most awesome skill in the game (for necros anyway)?
I found this recently and got it on my Necro after a long walk up Snake Dance. I tried it out in Fort Aspenwood (Luxon) with this build:
Feast of Corruption {E}
Suffering
Faintheartedness
Insidious Parasite
Parasitic Bond
Malaise
Deathly Swarm
Verata's Aura
I found that Suffering + Feast of Corruption + Deathly Swarm finished the eles and necros guarding the first two gates...
I think I have a new favourite...sorry Spiteful Spirit!

I take Veratas Aura for my own amusement...I like to annoy enemy MMs. I don't take any form of resurrect into Aspenwood...it's a one-hit-wonder skill and if the other team has a mesmer like mine I would get interrupted before you can shout "That Wammo is using Mending!"
